Do any warm slippers with arch support exist?

I really want warm feet so am after sheepskin or wool slippers. But the ones I've had in the past have always had dead flat soles. Are there any with devent supportive soles anywhere?
Thanks

Hmm, none of these are actual sheepskin and also give more coverage than a clog. I need real sheepskin for warmth and want something that covers the whole foot. Might carry on with my Shepherds and add vionic innersoles.

I have the Zermatt ones from Birkenstock, love them and can’t imagine anything else would be as good for arch support, but am eyeing up the Andermatt as mine are a few years old now and I like the more boot-like style.

Shepherd of Sweden are great - nice thick soles, rubber and sheepskin. I buy a new pair every time mine wear out (every 2 to 3 years).

Haflinger slippers are lovely, good support and very warm.

I was going to post these.

I'm currently wearing some eva Birkenstocks (with socks if I get cold Grin). I'm hoping they'll bring out a vegan version of the clogs as I'm really allergic to wool.

I do miss my slipper boots but plantar fasciitis really is an arse.

SwedishEdith · 14/12/2022 07:39

Lots more ideas here, thanks. I really like the look out if those Andermatt with the shearling insoles but £££s.

For those with plantar fasciitis, I watched a Dr Berg video on YouTube and sis the stretches he recommended. I haven't had it since touch wood!

This was over a year ago and I had it pretty bad.

Aus wooli slippers do I think - there will be a few, just more expensive, but they should last

Aurea · 14/12/2022 07:46

I have these. Super expensive but durable as I'm on my third year with them wearing them for 6 months of the year (I live in northern Scotland in a cold house, draughty house).

Hi @SwedishEdith Thanks for posting. If you're still looking for slippers with supportive soles, take a look at our article on the best women's slippers. Some of the pairs may be suitable. Many of the products have been recommended by Mumsnet users, so I hope you find it useful.

I know this is an old thread, but I felt compelled to comment and thank those that gave recommendations. I purchased a pair of Haflingers, have had them on for less than 5 minutes and I’m already in love!

Cantonet · 24/01/2025 12:54

For anyone with bad Plantar Fasciitis I would recommend investing in a pair of Oofos Slippers. They have a super bouncy sole & were recommended by my podiatrist who specialised in P.F. I had a ruptured P.F. ligament & was in pain for over 6 months. These really helped heal ... in the slide version. But they also do fluffy slippers. They are pricey! But it was worth it.

RitaSueandBobtwo · 24/01/2025 13:09

Have a look at Strive or Vionic both specialise in this type of footwear and both have sales on at the moment.

Good work! I commented all the way up there 👆 giving a shout out to Haflinger. I went off piste last year and bought others because I felt I couldn't justify the price. 6 months later,. I'm back in the Haflingers. Love them!

I have 2 pairs of Vionic slippers for summer and winter, best ones I have purchased.

I’ve gone through so many pairs of slippers, I’ve probably spent triple the price of a pair of Haflingers in the last few years alone! My last pair were from Vionic and they only lasted about 6 months, so I was willing to take the gamble on Haflingers and I’m so glad I did. I’ve never had arch support like this in slippers before and they’re so comfortable. I’m tempted to buy a second pair in a different style.
Thank you again for the recommendation! It’s not an over-exaggeration when I say they’ve been life changing… I know it’s only been 24 hours, but it’s the first 24 hours in a long time where I haven’t been in pain.

Mahabis
Birkenstocks
Lots of cheaper copies of birks out there too

Howmanyroses · 25/01/2025 13:07

Thanks for the Haflingers recommendation! I just bought a pair of slippers and sandals on sale :) I have multiple foot issues and until now have resorted to wearing Oofos sandals, which are very comfortable, but can't exactly wear these to the office or in winter. I have a pair of Birkies with fir inside, but wow are they eyewateringly priced at £155 and this is with a discount! Looking forward to trying my new purchases on

CinnamonJellyBeans · 25/01/2025 13:26

Hello all you high instep people commenting on this thread. Can any of you recommend some half insoles which have really good arch support? Thanks.
