Do any warm slippers with arch support exist?

SwedishEdith · 12/12/2022 22:28

I really want warm feet so am after sheepskin or wool slippers. But the ones I've had in the past have always had dead flat soles. Are there any with devent supportive soles anywhere?
Thanks

I have been wanting exactly the same thing! Fitflop do a pair but at £130 it’s way more than I’m willing to pay for slippers!

I have plantar fasciitis and my lovely sheepskin slippers really make it worse. The only “house shoes” that work are my Birkenstock clogs. DP has bought me the shearling version for Christmas and I can’t wait - but they are very ££.

WeeM · 12/12/2022 22:35

Or these:
Birkenstocks but still more than I want to pay!

Haflinger slippers are lovely, good support and very warm.

Birkenstock make a Boston clog with sheepskin - they are lovely!

Tangelo · 12/12/2022 22:37

You want these
As others have noted they are very spenny. However mine are in year 2 and good as new. I’m presuming I’ll get a good four years out of them at least - which starts to feel more reasonable. They have slightly changed my life!

Google brings up quite a few but they are all expensive brands. Skechers seem to be the least expensive. I wear crocs with thick socks. Not very elegant, but comfortable and warm.

Another shout for Haflinger. I love the Flair Smily style (yes it's called that!). Cosy felt slippers and arch support that make my feet go 'aaaaaaaah'.

You just need to get the insoles. I have insoles in all my slippers, can pull them out and put them in my pumps and some sandals in the summer.

Having the insoles in all my shoes has completely stopped my plantar fasciitis

Vionic slippers with arch support.
I have the flip flop style which are really comfy & supportive but not especially warm. The Caressa style attached looks warm in shearling & in the sale. Plus there are several other styles you might prefer.

Oh, thanks all. I tend to wear Birkenstock Arizonas with thick socks as I need the sole for my bendy feet. So I'll take a look at the Zermatt. Like the look of the Haflingers as well.

Sketchers do brilliant ones, about £50/£60. Really really warm and they do a like called Arch fit for extra support x

Noodle421 · 13/12/2022 10:43

I really rate Birkenstock shearlings. On my second year - daily wear. I have a high instep with a history of plantar F and these are fab - I went up a size to allow room for my high instep. Vionic also do a great moveable arch support which can be worn in any of my shoes, particularly flimsy plimsolls in the summer. I’ve not had a recurrence of PF for years.

minipie · 13/12/2022 10:48

I have some like this from Toms. They feel like I’m wearing trainers - in fact I’ve accidentally worn them out of the house a couple of times! Also not cheap but have lasted very very well.

WhereAreWeNow · 13/12/2022 10:50

I have some lovely Fitflop Chrissie sheepskin ones. £40 in the sale.

RitaSueandBobtwo · 13/12/2022 10:52

I have just ordered some from Strive for Christmas (not cheap) as also have PF and need arch support and now can’t tolerate walking in bare feet on cold floor. Best brands for supportive slippers in my opinion are Strive, Vionic and Fitflop.

Fuckitydoodah · 13/12/2022 10:52

Not sheepskin or wool, but I have plantar fasciitis and got these
www.amazon.co.uk/Ladies-Mule-Slippers-DUN-Grey/dp/B083ZJ9BM1/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2RYSK9RLZB4G3&keywords=dunlop+slippers+women&qid=1670928513&sprefix=dunlop+slippers%2Caps%2C83&sr=8-3

They're really comfy. I'd been eyeing up the fitflop ones but couldn't justify the price tag. I would recommend sizing up in these.

Dunlop have other styles on amazon. Not sure what the support is like though.

Fuckitydoodah · 13/12/2022 10:55

There's these one, same footbed style but fluffy lining

I use good quality insoles ie scholl gel active sport insoles, or 3/4 orthotic insole support - available from pharmacies and amazon

caramac04 · 13/12/2022 10:58

I have fur lined crocs. They are the best slippers I’ve ever had. My feet are toasty and I carpet only on the stairs so comfort and warmth is important.
I have a high instep so need good support.
Until this pair I was always disparaging of crocs but have since bought a second pair for warmer days.

GettingStuffed · 13/12/2022 13:10

I usually get very cold feet but I have a pair of felt clogs from Pavers that keep my feet toasty warm and have a decent foot bed. They don't have the exact ones but IME clogs tend to have proper insoles
