What can I buy for my top half to keep me warm when WFH , that's smart enough for video calls?

I usually sit with my heated blanket over my knee and my dressing gown or a hoodie over my clothes.

I had a 2 hour workshop today though and needed to be in video. Dressing gown was definitely out, but also didn't feel the hoodie was smart enough or long/warm enough.

Any suggestions?

Not for meetings necessarily but USB heated fingerless gloves are excellent for working from home.
Otherwise if you don't have the computer on turtle doves are lovely.

It’s not the Arctic circle. I wear a wool jumper and my house is 18 degrees during the day.

Well, mine was 12 degrees this morning. I am being frugal with heating, and during the weekends, need less. But, weekdays are sitting in front of a screen, and a wool jumper won't cut it on its own.

Layers of wool is a different story. I save up woollens for a half hour wash in the machine. As pp pointed out, you can wear woollen items for longer before they need washing. My woollens programme has a 1000rpm spin and nothing has been damaged. They dry overnight with dehumidifier on for a couple of hours here and there, but that's not needed now heating is on for an hour or two every evening.

At work, we can get very cold if the shutters are open and people keep leaving the door to the warehouse open. So most of us have throws or ponchos at work to chuck on on those days we get loads of deliveries.
I have one a bit like this:

And one a bit like this:

I'm in Scotland. I live in a Victorian house. It was 13 degrees in the house.

I was fine when I was sitting with my dressing gown over my clothes, but 2 hours when I needed to be a bit smarter and couldn't wear it I was feeling cold.

I don't give a shit what I look like on my Teams calls. If it's cold, I usually wear my Oodie and I've worn it to our virtual board meetings too. I hope people are interested in what's in my head rather than what's on my body.

Normally I don't care. This time I needed to be smarter and I wasn't prepared.

What do other people wear?

Are you reluctant to put your hearing on because of energy costs? Can you heat one room only?

Heat your body internally.... soup, tea ... and be diligent about moving between meetings and during breaks.... get up, move vigorously, get warm.

No one else seemed to be wearing anything that stood out as particularly warm.

I am reluctant to heat an old Victorian house just for me now I wfh during the day. Our heating bills are huge enough as it is.

I am fine when I have my heated blanket over my lap and my dressing gown over my clothes. I just wanted to be better prepared for when I need to sit for a longer time period wearing something smarter.

Didn't it know such a thing existed. Thank you.
