Phase 8 jumper dress appreciation thread

I've bought two jumper dresses from Phase 8 recently. I'm a size 12, with fairly slender limbs but quite a chunky midriff and they both just work some kind of magic. I think it's the batwing that balances it out somehow. I've had similar in the past with their long knitted tunics.

Sharing for anyone else out there who is always looking for cosy and flattering knitted dresses.

Ohhhhh I'm gutted this is EXACTLYwhat I've been looking for but out of stock in my size :(. I specifically wanted 3/4 sleeves too as I get too hot otherwise.

The Hush one is also lovely @WhereAreWeNow but that length doesn't work for me. If anyone can recommend anything similar to the phase 8 in size 8 or 10 I will be eternally grateful!

I’ve got a couple of these and they do seem to work wonders for my post-menopausal round tummy, big boobs, scrawny arms and legs shape. Dresses usually look totally ridiculous on me, not helped by being very short-waisted in addition to the other problems. But these really look totally fine and I’ve had compliments whenever I’ve worn them, which is somewhat unusual these days. If you have a difficult shape it’s probably worth trying one, they are very forgiving.

I’ve got loads of these! They’ve been doing this style for a few years and I’ve got 5 or 6 different ones that I’ve bought over that time. They wash really well, keep their shape and hide a multitude of sins!!

That batwing/dropped shoulder cut really broadens the top half and on me, looks like Ive taken up shot-putting. Not good for those of us with norks.

The Becca dress really suits me however, I can’t stand the short sleeves. I have only once seen it with long sleeves, bought it and the bloody thing shrank in the wash.

I have broad shoulders and narrow hips, I looked like a wrestler 😁
They are lovely but didn't work for me

I've been living in various versions of these phase 8 dresses in the winter for years now due to seeing them recommended in this board. They are extremely flattering for an apple with slim legs and arms. I've also worn them over skinny jeans or coated leggings. Can be dressed up or down , look great with heels or chunky flat boots.

I also have a summer version from Hush but it didn't work as well.

@wewishyouamerrychristmas I get what you mean about the arms - wore one of my because dresses this week and wished the arms were longer. Still a great dress though.

@FreestyleVibe have you checked other sites that stock Phase Eight? Like John Lewis or Next?

If anyone sees anything like the Phase Eight Becca with long sleeves, please share details! I really want another dress like this but can't be doing with 3/4 sleeves in winter.

Phase 8 has very flattering knitwear usually (and excellent quality too)

That style suits me too
i have the phase eight one in navy, grey and a dark purple plus a couple in black with extra details
I find for my body shape I size down one as they are quite stretchy

@FreestyleVibe a few on vinted....

One of my Beccas is navy with long sleeves and a v neck.

A few years old now.

Hello! Loving the dresses and am really keen with the Black Friday 20% off. Just wanting sizing advice - I am a busty, tall size 10 and wondered if S or M would work best? I don't like the fact that a S is 8/10 as I am definitely not an 8 - I am a 10 but am tall. Any advice? Many thanks 😊

I think that’s meant to be the look, I actually had a similar one from C&A when I was about 13!

What was the trendy bit in C and A called? Clockwork? Clock tower? I miss that store

I ordered the becca dress in grey but it's going back. I've got 5 of these of different styles that I bought a couple of years ago and wear all the time.

This one is different , baggier on top but tighter on the skirt part. Just didn't sit right compared to the one I'm wearing today. The material isn't as robust either - thin jersey rather than jumper material.

The C&A range was called Cliockhouse - I bought loads from there in the 80's

Seriously, thanks for the link. I loved my similar Hush dress but it's a bit worse for wear so fingers crossed this will replace it.

I've just bought one from Vinted. Not sure if the name but defo Phase Eight and similar style 😊
