It doesn’t matter as I’m wearing it to work today anyway and I loves it (it’s on the bright side).
Just wondering if I’m making a huge fashion blunder 😁

I returned the Celtic & Co one I bought online last year, coveted it for a few months as was so disappointed with how thin it was so wouldn't buy one from there again. Do love my Croft House one however and looking forward to wearing it again soon.

I got a lovely pale blue one from woolovers a while ago - sadly I’ve put a bit of weight on and it’s currently too snug
might see what offers they have on between now and Xmas

Loving these - tempting! I got super into knitting during the lockdowns and now do my own fairisle garments 🤣

Wow, that's beautiful work!!!!

UserNameNameNameUser · 05/11/2022 22:23

Thanks to you lot I have 3 jumpers on the way 😅

Bimblesalong · 05/11/2022 22:27

Thanks, @ArabeI

Bimblesalong · 05/11/2022 22:28

Thanks also @dudsville
I’m addicted to Marie Wallin patterns - recently started with Alice Starmore kits.

Does anyone have the Celtic and Co one?
www.celticandco.com/womens/clothing/knitwear/float-stitch-yoke-donegal-jumper?colourid=390#reviews

just wondered about sizing as I think I am between small and medium sand the reviews says it comes up big

I do, and it's amazing.

I thought sizing came up large. I'm a size 10 in most shops (e.g. Hobbs), and wear that jumper in a small.

TomTraubertsBlues · 05/11/2022 22:47

I love a fair Isle knit. And it's definitely not just for Christmas!

cushionfiend · 05/11/2022 23:49

@RealDeeBliss Oh no, there are FAR too many nice things on that Croft House website, I can feel my bank balance protesting in advance!

Roomytrouser · 06/11/2022 00:23

Brora are very considerate and group theirs all together www.broraonline.com/uk/collections/fair-isle

Roomytrouser · 06/11/2022 00:23

Love the merino wool ones

Forgottenmypasswordagain · 10/11/2022 20:18

I love them, I have never had one, but love the look.

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 10/11/2022 21:20

Not sure what Fair Isle would be too soon for, it's not for Christmas unless it has sparkles or snowflakes, which doesn't make it Fair Isle.
I've got some on today and have had for at least a month, as it's not summer anymore.

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 10/11/2022 21:23

Campbell's of Beauly have real wool fair isle knits. They're the kind that last forever, and not like my Joules fair isle which is already bobbling after 2 wears and going to fall apart, and not very much price difference!

Gruelle · 10/11/2022 22:27

Tbf the Campbell’s fair isle is twice the price of the other. But I wouldn’t have handed over £70 for acrylic and polyester! You wuz robbed!

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 11/11/2022 08:38

Joules was £90 originally, I paid £110 for my Campbells of Beauly earlier this year (have gone onto website since and now it’s £135).
i was knowingly robbed, all for the love of a pattern but as usual regret it down the line when it’s a manky material

Gruelle · 11/11/2022 11:55

Ooooh - Just look at what & Daughter have on pre-order. Surely someone’s perfect outfit.

Piggieinthemiddle · 11/11/2022 11:58

I never realised fair-isle was Christmassy! I am a knitter and and am rocking a colourwork jumper today. I have a lighter jacket (rather than a big coat) and am a perfect temperature in the office and on the go.

Kalettesarethebest · 11/11/2022 12:03

never too early!! I hate the fact that when I wear my fairisle jumpers (i have a few!) people comment that they're christmas jumpers! No they're not!!!!

OnABreeze · 11/11/2022 12:05

Yarrawonga · 04/11/2022 10:56

Easier to wear than a jumper IMO.

Only if you haven’t recently watched a rerun of Open All Hours.

Haha woolly vests are fecking hideous!

EastFortySixth · 11/11/2022 12:34

Caroffee · 04/11/2022 21:14

It has holly on it so I would say it is festive by association. A colleague once banned me from wearing my snowflake-yoke fair isle after Christmas 😂

I just had a good old look….and I think you are right! I mean it is quite abstract holly but I think could be considered holly none-the-less 😂 green with little red dots. oh well….bring it on! I’ll just be THAT one that wears Christmas jumpers in early November 🎅🏻

I think I may need to re-read this Nov 10th FT article on Fair Isle knitwear a few more times to grasp it. Anyway, see for yourselves … (Gorgeous photos!)

Looking for a scoop/deep v neck winter jumper. Don’t mind a bit of fairisle but need to be careful with pattern size/placement (too heavy hourglass).

Anyone seen anything that would suit a bright winter?
