What are your measurements?

I’m 37-29-39

I always used to be very skinny and post-baby have no idea whether I’m slim or not now.

Clothes sizes don’t help - I’m an 8 in some shops and a 14 in others!

OP posts:
lljkk · 03/11/2022 20:31

Almost 5'8", 36-28-39 today.

My UK clothes size are something like
tops size 14-16
waist 8-10
hips 10-12

faretheewell · 03/11/2022 20:48

5 ft 7. 35 26 35. Size 8 or a 10 depending on the shop but usually an 8. People think I'm slim and athletic because I like running and I look like it. I am on the slim side. Wasn't always and my weight loss is intentional due to previous health issue,

Ohmygoshposh · 03/11/2022 11:35

@StillMedusa do you know your measurements? Weight doesn’t help, I generally wear a size 10-12 too but I’m nearly two stone heavier than you! (I’m am sporty and carry muscle though)

I wouldn’t consider 11 stone slim at 5 ft 7

BarryK3nt · 03/11/2022 20:53

I am 5’7”
8 stone 10
35-24-35 size 8

There it is. I was waiting on a comment like this.

I am exactly that height and weight and I agree it's not slim. Not overweight either. I am menopausal though.

CookPassBabtridge · 04/11/2022 09:31

Yep there it is.. the comments from people who don't understand different body shapes and skeleton widths.
This is me at 5ft 7 11 stone.. if this isn't slim I'm giving up 😂😂

If you are 5 foot 7 and considered slim….
SuperCamp · 04/11/2022 09:31

Slim is a hugely subjective term that covers very low BMI to the lower reaches of overweight BMI.

Coveredinivy · 04/11/2022 09:32

It's a perfectly healthy weight. Maybe you don't feel good at that weight but plenty of other people do and comments like that might make them feel shit about themselves when it's not an issue for them but rather the issue of the person saying it.

Depends. I am from an ethnic group that is prone to diabetes and I have been told by my GP to lose weight at 5"7 and 11 stone. I didn't take offence or feel shit. It's a fact.

YellowHpok · 04/11/2022 09:36

11st is a very healthy weight for 5 ft 7. Clearly slim. Anyone who says otherwise is either being thick or deliberately goady.

I'm 40-38-40 and curvy (a bit fat), not slim.

Exactly

Agree with this. I am lower end of overweight but would be considered by many (not on this thread 🙄) to be slim. I'm broad shouldered and curvy. No doubt I'm carrying extra weight, but I don't think people would look at me and think I was overweight. If that makes any sense at all. Think Kelly Brooke (in my youth)

Lentilweaver · 04/11/2022 09:41

Guess both my GP and I are thick then!

Anyway I just realised this is in S and B, not Chat, so will end it, but I continue to think this country is really odd in terms of what is a normal size and the discussion around weight.

MrsVeryTired · 04/11/2022 10:35

I think it also depends on how fit you are, an unfit person at 11stone and 5ft 7 might not be slim (depending on build also) but if you are toned will be. I was not slim a year ago at this weight but since toning up and getting fitter am now closer to slim.

5ft 6 measure 40 (biggish boobs)-31-38, weigh 10st 8 ish , slim-ish.
Have done lots of exercise in last 6 months, weight has hardly changed ( a few pounds) but lost several inches.

MrsVeryTired · 04/11/2022 10:36

And @CookPassBabtridge you look fab! 👌

Dachshund40 · 04/11/2022 10:47

I don’t feel slim compared to what I was when younger, 40 now and hormaones changing, but get told I am tall/slim a lot. I’m 5”8 I vary between 63 and 64.5 kilos not sure what that is in stone. Im quite muscular and my measurements are 29-27-36
have always had a larger bum even when 8st

MrsVeryTired · 04/11/2022 10:50

29 is surely not your bust measurement though?@Dachshund40 do you mean bra size

Dachshund40 · 04/11/2022 10:53

@MrsVeryTired 29 is my under bust/ribs measurement I’m a 32C in mist bras

Dachshund40 · 04/11/2022 10:55

@MrsVeryTired just dug out my tape measure, 33(over bust) 26.5 waist 36 hips

MrsVeryTired · 04/11/2022 11:53

You are definitely slim @Dachshund40 Smile
As is OP, and sensible to ask measurements not weight as everyone carries weight differently really.

vaIlerie · 04/11/2022 12:11

I'm approx 5ft 6 (give or take half an inch) Weight fluctuates between 8.5 and 9 stone, but I haven't weighed myself in over a year so don't know.

Measurements are:

34 - chest
26 - waist (it's always been ridiculously small!)

Not sure about hip measurement but I'm generally a size 8 , sometimes 10 in tops or coats or for a different fit.

vaIlerie · 04/11/2022 12:12

I'm also sporty and carry muscle so I may be heavier than I think! I should weigh myself at some point, possibly.

vaIlerie · 04/11/2022 12:16

OP has said she carries muscle, so it will likely be a healthy weight surely

SuzannaBonanza · 04/11/2022 12:24

@CookPassBabtridge definitely slim (and gorgeous!)

I'm not 5ft7 or slim so was just having a nosey on here but yes for body shape you measure the tape above your breasts not just the rib cage like in a bra band.
