Red lipstick

Can anyone recommend a deep red lipstick with staying power? And one that doesn't dry your lips or turn pink after a drink?

I can't seem to find one that works for me. I've tried using MAC lip primer with MAC lipstick and lipcote and setting spray- but none of those things work.

Any ideas? Getting married next year and hope to find a red lipstick that will last.

Colours I like: Ruby woo (but far too drying) and Avon Legendary but not enough pigment so fades to pink.

Well @RaininginDarling I was impressed.
It easily survived eating and drinking. Didn’t transfer onto my glass, or smudge at all. Didn’t even need touching up. I got lots of compliments too!

@RaininginDarling Here it is, it's in Raspberry Red. It says matte but it's not hard and crispy like other matte lip colours I've used and the crayon is very soft.

That's magic! Is it a blue red rather than orange red?
On a whim, I ordered the Dior - was having trouble with the Lisa Eldridge website last night. But this is going on my wishlist

I got the Violette Fr. Bisou Balm too, in Bêtise, it’s absolutely gorgeous and I love it!

I love a red lipstick. Charlotte Tilbury Red Carpet Red is one of my favourites but I’m now in the market for Dior 999! Gorgeous!

Well @VioletTopaz the Dior red is absolutely stunning. It is the perfect neutral red (neither too orange or blue) and it feels wonderful on the lips. Not sure about staying power yet: it does transfer on to mugs etc but the pigment is so dense, it fades nicely after a few hours. So thank you to the OP who mentioned it and kindly left a screenshot ;)

Yes, I needed to top up after a few hours. But it fades slowly and well. I've decided to also try violtte.fr too 😆🙄

It’s on my Christmas list!
I was in Boots today and bought the lip crayon @OldTinHat mentioned upthread.
Currently testing it out, before another night out tomorrow.
So far so good. A bit more transfer than the Violette, but it’s holding up well, and it’s a lovely colour. So considering it was the freebie in the 3 for 2 thing, I’m very pleased!! 👍🏻💋

Another one here for Lisa Eldridge. I have several of her lipsticks and love them all.
I have 3 of her reds: Velvet Ribbon, Velvet Jazz and Wonder Wheel (though it's more pinky red).
Velvet Ribbon is a stunning true pillar box red.

Lisa Eldridge - The colour is beautiful. Just the right amount of brightness, and no orange.
V comfy to apply. It lasted pretty well, but did start to fade slightly patchy after a few hours.
also the nicest packaging I think I’ve had for a lipstick.

I ordered the maybelline mentioned by @princessbear80 upthread, it looked great in her photo. It was a bit darker on me than on her but the staying power was amazing. Didn’t budge through a meal out, no transfer, actually it was tricky to remove.

Im going to try the no7 crayon too and I’m tempted by the Dior!

Huzzah! @ProfessorInkling that all sounds very promising. I must say, I am loving the Dior. Putting Lisa Eldridge on my Christmas list though :)

Couldn't agree more. Luxury pricing, but you definitely get a luxury product in return
