Really easy to use blusher for a newbie

So as someone who has only really got into make up the last couple of years (I’m 45), I’ve never really worn blusher. But I feel like now I wear tinted moisturiser and pore fessional type products, my face looks paler.

im after a blusher that is super easy to apply, looks natural but just brings a bit of colour … can anyone recommend any please? There are so many out there! My fear is looking like a Russian doll 🙈 because I’ve never worn it.
Thankyou!

I've just started using this and really like it. Good for mature skin - i'm 52 - only need a tiny bit and buildable. I dont wear foundation, just a bit of concealer and this seems to work as a "no make up" look

Thankyou. The colours all look so bold but I assume they aren’t as bright on? Thanks for recommendation

Depending how pale you are, benefit dandelion and a soft brush. It's so subtle

MakeMineALarge1 · 23/10/2022 17:18

I have nude burn its fabulous, its a repeat purchase here, you only need a tiny dot so it lasts ages

Niftythrifter · 23/10/2022 18:20

Clinique chubby stick in rhubarb is a nice peach colour that can be easily rubbed in and is subtle.

I'd go powder to start with. Maybe a cheap one just to get the sense of colours you like

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 23/10/2022 18:24

I like benetint. It is quite pink which works for me. It makes me look as if I went for a walk in the cold. It is liquid and looks like blood and has an applicator stick. You only need one dab on each cheekbone, not more - otherwise you will look like Aunty Sally.

The key with any blush product is to use the tiniest amount (so you can barely see it) and slowly build up. Over time you'll get an idea of how much to use, but start slow. Don't be frightened!

Boots Natural Collection. Cheap as chips so you try a few shades.

Barry M fresh face cheek and lip tint - summer rose. I’m in my forties and rubbish with makeup and even I can manage this.

Can't think what colour I got but got this about 2 years ago, lasts ages despite me using it every day:

and Boots Natural Collection ones are great too and cheap.

Nars Orgasm. Pretty much suits everyone. My go-to

Juicylychee · 23/10/2022 19:18

Go to a make up counter for advice. Impossible to tell without seeing you!

Yep.

SheWoreYellow · 23/10/2022 19:28

I’d suggest just getting a pretty pale one.

Why? You have no idea what would suit op

grey12 · 23/10/2022 19:32

I'm not super into makeup and I would say powder is much easier to apply than other mediums 🤷🏻‍♀️ put just a little bit and then check in different mirrors how you look. The next time you can put more.

Pick a pinkish colour that kind of matches your blushing. Lighter pink if you're very white or a bit stronger if you aren't.

RosesAndHellebores · 23/10/2022 19:37

Just dab a bit of your lippy in the dimple of your cheeks and blend.

As a beginner it’s easier to build colour. Obviously she’s not going to go for one that’s lighter than her actual skin. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Thankyou. I am going to go to John Lewis and try out some of the ones suggested but at least these give me a few to try to see how they look on me

Do you have a boots or a superdrug? I'd try them and get some cheaper ones. Or a no.7 one from boots
