Secret Santa £50 budget - what would you ask for?

Family Secret Santa so quite a generous budget. What would you put on your wishlist? I'm thinking nice candles/diffusers/skincare/haircare? Scarf maybe?

Neom mini portable pale pink diffuser (also done in black) and sone oils

BigSandyBalls2015 · 23/10/2022 09:33

Neom candle and a nice bottle of wine.

Niftythrifter · 23/10/2022 14:25

John Lewis cashmere hat (around £40) and then some posh coffee if they are a coffee drinker.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 23/10/2022 14:33

Neoprene swimming hat

Whistlesandbell · 23/10/2022 19:55

I’d really like a large eye shadow palette and some make up brushes. I’ve decided I look nicer when I’m wearing eyeshadow.

ImAvingOops · 23/10/2022 19:59

Two faced Sweet Peach eyeshadow palette. I think I'm going to buy this for myself anyway!

user267451 · 23/10/2022 20:05

Apple tree

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 23/10/2022 20:06

One hundred stars scarf.

JaceLancs · 23/10/2022 22:25

Cashmere scarf or couple of pairs of socks

BlackLodge · 23/10/2022 22:34

Earrings

Tailfeather · 23/10/2022 22:43

Do you know who you're buying for?

InTrussWeTruss · 23/10/2022 23:00

If it was me I'd love a very light fruity and floral eau de toilette. It's the kind of thing I don't buy for myself but quite like. For £50 maybe Hugo boss.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 24/10/2022 05:43

How does a wish list for secret Santa work? I thought the point of it was the secret?

But to answer the question. A John Lewis voucher please.

Whistlesandbell · 24/10/2022 07:49

I thought the term secret was in relation to who gave you the present.
Nowadays many families have sensibly adopted the idea and instead of buying multiple relatives a present for let’s say £10 or £20 they give and receive one decent present.

oceanbleu · 24/10/2022 08:02

I'd go for a John Lewis voucher too and buy a diptytique candle with it :) which is what I've done recently actually.

KimmySchmitt · 24/10/2022 08:07

@Whistlesandbell exactly. @FormerlySpeckledyHen We've used an app to draw names so it's anonymous (I've drawn BIL) and it allows you to put a wishlist up of things you'd like. So I'm planning to put a list up of about 10 things so the person who has drawn me can get me something I like but I still won't know exactly what I'm getting. It's better than risking someone wasting £50 on something you don't want, especially when that's your only present!

Thanks for all the ideas (even the more random ones!). Some nice gifts in there. I don't think asking for a voucher is in the spirit but I'll consider it. I've added a couple of fancy candles to the list, a Sol de Janeiro cream and a couple of edible things.

A semi secret santa then 🙃
I’m all for not wasting money, but you might as well all buy yourself something and cut out the middle man 👏

bravotango · 24/10/2022 19:52

Cashmere hat as PP suggested
Elemis cleansing balm
Bangle from Oliver Bonas
Leather gloves
Bottle of wine to make up to £50

The thing is many of us wouldn’t buy ourselves a £50 candle or scarf, the £50 ends up going on sensible stuff.

It's secret in that I don't know who's buying for me. I don't know what your problem is. Go and pick a fight in AIBU
