NC.

36yo F. Really noticing the lines now!
Would you get Botox for these yet?

Or should I learn to accept them?

I don't know anything about botox but looking at your photos you look like you might have dry skin. I think I'd try drinking more water and look into a good moisturiser.
You don't look particularly wrinkly though although hard to judge from a photo.

AriettyHomily · 11/10/2022 13:25

I don't think they're wrinkles yet tbh. I'm 43 and getting my first Botox next week in the '11's

Thank you.
Do you have a moisturiser you'd recommend?

Good luck for your Botox next week! I hope it goes well.
Are you only getting the 11's done?

I've had 'wrinkles' like that since my teens, no you really do not need botox for them. I use tretnion and have done for 10 months and mine are hardly noticeable now, maybe go down that route first? It's not a quick fix and needs continual long term use to see results but I'd go for that over botox for fine lines anyday.

Thanks for your reply. Where can I get that from?

I don't know about botox but you could improve the texture.

Use a balm cleanser twice daily then use Tretinoin from Dermatica, I like La Roche Posay Moistusier and some squalene oil from the ordinary.

Spf every day - fancy one Dr Sam, budget one Altruist face fluid.

If you want to try Dermatica here is a code, I think you're a good age to start

@BryceQuinlanTheFirst Thanks very much! I'll have a look into those products tonight.

I have dry skin too, especially in winter I need loads of hydration.

Should have said it's this range
la roche posay toleriane
They have lots of ranges and it's confusing.

Using Tret I no longer need to exfoliate, be careful if you do start this path as it can cause irritation if you exfoliate and use the strong Retinol.

reallyjustwantgin · 11/10/2022 15:30

I think it's just preference OP. I am nearly 40 and started getting Botox earlier this year as a preventative measure. I didn't have visible wrinkles but figured I'd stop them before they come! I love getting Botox.
My skin is in really good condition and I have a set routine so didn't want to go down the route of trying other treatments.

AriettyHomily · 11/10/2022 15:30

@Ageing for now, they're the ones that don't fall out after I've woken up! I want to go gently at first:)

RodiganReed · 11/10/2022 15:31

You don't need Botox but now would be a good time to start on some prescription strength Tretinoin - I use Skin & Me, you submit a couple of photos via their site, answer a questionnaire and you are prescribed a monthly doser of a product full of actives tailored to your skin.

The only other products you should need aside from that are a cleanser, SPF and a separate moisturiser if needed (from the photos it looks like your skin might be dehydrated so would benefit from a moisturiser with hyaluranic acid or similar). As your actives are all in your Skin & Me you can afford to go cheap on the other bits, Superdrug's Vitamin E range is cheap as chips and very good quality for the price point.

Good luck!

I'm going to go against the grain here and say get the Botox! I had small wrinkles on my forehead, and everyone said, don't get Botox but I did it anyway! It really made me feel more confident - lI could definitely see a difference in my before and after photos. It was really just a boost my confidence and to make make up is it a little bit better and I can't tell you the difference it made. My advice would be to go
a proper reputable place, rather than Joe Bloggs off Facebook as they will be able to tell you exactly what you need. I only had a very small amount and it made a world of difference, and didn't give me a heavy brow or furrowed look, it really was just a subtle tweak Go for it!

ColeensBoot · 11/10/2022 15:38

Seems like you need microneedling or mesotherapy rather than Botox? Look these up as they can give you results of less lines

urrrgh46 · 11/10/2022 15:59

Get a consultation with a good aesthetic practitioner. If they're good they'll not recommend something you don't need. Mine told me not to have filler at all as it'll show (I'm very slim). I do get Botox and had some hydrolonic acid injected. I love my Botox! 🫢 I have it in my forehead and 11s and to stop my mouth downturning. It's all very subtle and no one notices.

urrrgh46 · 11/10/2022 16:00

Except me - I should add!! You can guess from my name I'm 46 🤣

CraigDavid · 11/10/2022 16:28

You don't need any Botox! Not at all!

anonbelle · 16/10/2022 02:26

It's not too late for skin care!!! Anything Pro Collagen & wear SPF EVERYDAY!!!!

I assume you mean hyaluronic acid? Hate to tell you this but hyaluronic acid is a filler.

BananaCocktails · 16/10/2022 03:13

Tretinoin is not readily available in the uk I am assuming those recommendations are coming from Americans?

Felicity42 · 16/10/2022 03:18

You need to be careful using Tretonin. It's a prescription only acne treatment. Esp if you are pregnant or breastfeeding you'd want to get a doctor's advice before ordering stuff from the internet.

SunshineAndFizz · 16/10/2022 03:34

Yeah I probably would.

leeds2glasgow · 16/10/2022 04:23

I'm assuming you've been a smoker?

PrioritiseCalm · 16/10/2022 05:37

This thread makes me sad.

Meili04 · 16/10/2022 13:09

I use baby Botox and I have no lines on my forehead anymore I don't find it painful or invasive at all I think threading is more painful. I also exfoliate and moisturise everyday your skin looks dry.
