What to wear at my wedding?

So... the wedding will be town hall only, no guests, just 2 witnesses. Never dreamed of a big wedding, not a big deal for either of us, we've been together over 10 years so married in every way except legally. We are doing it for admin purposes. Want to keep costs as low as possible.

Initially was going to just wear jeans but I am thinking it might be seen as disrespectful by the registrars. Don't want to offend anyone, i just don't care about weddings. So now I am thinking maybe i can dress a bit smarter?

Currently I am very overweight... Size 16 (with a big mum pouch that is starting to look like a beer belly!) Gained a ton during and after pregnancy and I am feeling shit about it. Got huge breasts due to breastfeeding. I won't have time to fix my body till the wedding. No way will I wear a dress. And I never wear dresses anyway. But maybe black trousers and a smart blouse? Can you give me some ideas please?

I thought bat wings referred to a style of sleeves on jumpers, not actual arms.

It's what they're named after @TheSandwoman

It's bingo wings, not bat wings! But yes, many people are self conscious of loose skin or fat on their upper arms and would prefer to cover it up.

I have a bit of a belly when I'm a 16. So now. I usually go for a peplum style dress. I will look for some now.

Boohoo have loads of nice peplum dresses. I'm sure there are better quality dresses out there but I'm just browsing on the apps I use regularly.

Shein have also surprised me with the quality of their stuff lately.

Asos also have some lovely dresses at the min if you don't wear your jeans - which will also be great if you prefer to wear those.

I hope you have a wonderful day. It all sounds very chilled and stress free.

First of all, congratulations! My now DH and I eloped and had a low key affair, just the two of us. You can wear whatever you want! We went fully togged up, however the registrar said they often get people off the mountains in hiking boots and jeans which I think is FAB!

You do you and enjoy it, have the best day! 😍

Do you want to get married whilst being so unhappy with yourself?

It's sounds like you are doing for all the sensible legal reasons so honestly just go in your jeans and a top you like.

Perhaps next year when you feel happier you can celebrate with some new clothes and going for a nice meal - perhaps your 1st anniversary?

How about a midi length dress in your favourite colour with some flat shoes. Something that is quite floaty, then you will be comfortable and look nice in any photos you have taken. The shops are full of inexpensive dresses like this that are very easy to wear.
I have bought lots from Next and a few from M&S and received lots of compliments.
