I think you're a bit young to wear them, tbh, but if you like them wear them.

hopsalong · 22/08/2022 22:06

NO

No in any case.

No because you're only 38!

MadKittenWoman · 22/08/2022 22:07

I’m 60 and wear what I want as long as it fits and suits me. If you want them, get them.

jays · 22/08/2022 22:08

Not too young at all! And please m, wear what you love always, because you’ll always look better if you love it!

Namechanger355 · 22/08/2022 22:09

I’m almost 38 and positively offended - we aren’t old!

def not too old for this!

Diverseopinions · 22/08/2022 22:09

They are fine.

Leftbutcameback · 22/08/2022 22:28

I was expecting the item to be leather chaps with matching crop top from the title! Bit confused about why anyone would think these were limited to a younger age. Aren't they just like skinny jeans but in a softer material? And with useful pockets?

CrystalCoco · 22/08/2022 22:28

I'd wear them and I'm a fair bit older than you.

If you think you look good in them then go for it!

Minimalme · 23/08/2022 08:08
  1. 38 is young
  2. Zips are standard
  3. Wear what you feel good in

Congrats on the weight loss!

pistachi0nuts · 23/08/2022 09:01

@AlisonDonut You do you! I work in fashion and have an interest in fashion and so for me, personally, skinny jeans feel a little dated. But I appreciate it can take many years for new silhouettes to trickle down to the masses. I expect you were hard set on sticking to your bootcuts when skinnys came back round in the noughties. Think it was Kate moss responsible for bringing this new version of the skinny jean back in the early noughties....and she still rocks them now. good for her.

I do do me. The shame is that you shame people into trying to do you.

LaraLei · 23/08/2022 10:22

I have a pair like those just in blue. I am 50. I have never questioned if I should wear them

crochetmonkey74 · 23/08/2022 10:55

AlisonDonut · 22/08/2022 21:26

The angst over a pair of bloody trousers.

You might be on the wrong board then. This is where we discuss clothes.

The appears in 'Active'.

Anyone can post. Even people who think the fuss about a pair of trousers and whether someone who is quite young is too old to wear them is a complete non-issue. People shouldn't be shaming others into not wearing the 'right' trousers, it is appalling to be shaming people like this. You are supposed to be holding each other up, not making them feel bad about it.

Herja · 23/08/2022 12:59

My 80 year old grandma has some similar, which she wears with a nice, soft jumper and looks damn good in them! She likes the leg zips for ease of movement when dressing.

Definitely not too old! No such thing.

CookPassBabtridge · 23/08/2022 13:02

Fucking hell... 🤦🏻‍♀️
Wear what the hell you want at whatever age you are. You only live once. I'm 37 and can't imagine putting any restrictions on myself!
They are lovely btw.

Oh c'mon. "Skinny jeans are a bit dated" is hardly a brutal scolding or deep shaming. (And, sorry, they are.) No one's going to peel them off your body or personally insult you for still wearing them, but if you're going to talk about clothes, you're going to talk about fashion, and what's in Vs out. Any given individual doesn't have to care how in or out they are.

I'm not the one shaming the masses for not having the right silhouette yet. And what does dated even mean?

People like you are the reason so much stuff goes to landfill. Just stop it. Skinny jeans aren't dated. If the OP wants to wear them she can. Just stop with this nonsense.

JaneJeffer · 23/08/2022 13:12

@Chilleddays you've started a trend Grin

Am I took old to wear these at 38?
tickticksnooze · 23/08/2022 13:23

What's wrong with zips?!

Herejustforthisone · 23/08/2022 13:43

Why in the name of fuck would you be too old at 38 for skinny jeans? Wear whatever you want, whenever you want. I am 37 and am currently wearing skinny leather biker leggings, DMs and a cropped white tank top.

ShahRukhKhan · 23/08/2022 14:01

They are just very bog-standard jeans to my eyes, nothing about them that would link them to an age group or anything.

But regardless, wear what you want and what makes you feel good, even if that is pink platform boots and a lolita dress. Life is for living!

uncomfortablydumb53 · 23/08/2022 14:25

No way are you too old!
They're actually a simple style in a classic colour
I'd wear them and I'm 57
Embrace your personal style... it's not defined by your age( in my opinion)

Spaceprincess · 23/08/2022 20:55

If you love them buy them.
I also don't think they are something fashion conscious young people would wear (I teach at a university, the art/fashion students wear baggy jeans and 90s revival, one had crochet flares on the other day). So definitely not too young for , well anyone.
I'm in my 50s and wear whatever I like, and so should you.

Beefcurtains79 · 24/08/2022 08:10

The silhouette looks a bit dated, can you find anything similar with a looser fit?
