I know the advice is 'the best revenge is being happy...' but meanwhile, in the real world

I've have dinner and drinks with an ex next week. He did nothing wrong but did break my heart for complicated but good hearted reasons (children).

So I need an outfit that clearly says 'yes I'm sexy but I've not tried too hard'.

I'm coming from work so can get away with being dressed up, so I'm thinking a dress with summer sandles.

Requirements are it has to skim an (increased since we dated) size 18 body with massive boobs. I'm 30, with warm colouring that suits darker colours on the whole.

Any ideas?

If Divebar2021's links aren't to your taste then fair enough but I think the sentiments are spot on and, I'd keep it low key.

Normally I detest the whole 'trying too hard' expression but, for this I will make an exception. If you've been in a relationship, is he likely to notice any change in your style? If yes, then if were in your shoes, I'd stick to an ever so slightly dressier version of my usual look so as not to give him any reason to think I might be treating it as a special occasion.

Instead I would pay more attention to things like underwear (I don't mean sexy, just good basics) hair and even make up (I say 'even' as I don't normally bother much myself but, as I've said, I would make an exception.) In my admittedly limited experience, even men who notice clothes are less likely to notice any effort you've made in those areas.

Yes! go for the navy wrap one you already have - it’s perfect - low key but sexy shape.

That will look awful on a size 18 body with big tits gaping out if youre planning on not wearing a bra.
And if you do wear a bra it will be showing its scaffolding as big tits need firm control
Plus with the split skirt the whole thing screams 'I'm trying hard to not show I'm trying'

I can't decide whether you intended to be quite so horrible or just don't know what tact is.

If you had rtft you would realise that Op never intended to not wear a bra, kindly dismissed the first suggestion and has gone with a lovely navy wrap style dress with no split skirt

I think the black velvet is a bit try hard. I like the simply be one though.

I like the flowery one, tupee tape may be needed.

I have to say these suggestions are all lovely and I’ve very much enjoyed seeing labels I didn’t know existed.

It's awful- it's the epitome of try too hard. It's also. OP is meeting her ex for drinks and dinner- she'd look bonkers turning up in that. It's also only £22 and pure polyester- and looks it too.

Just stop it . Go and sharpen your claws somewhere else.

Thank you to all the kind and helpful posters who don't think my body is ridiculous!

I went, I wore a dress not on here which is a wrap dress over the chest and which is knee high at the front and longer at the back so it really floats as you walk. I wore a plunge bra with a middle so it didn't show (no scaffolding!).

About 10 people came up to me in the office to tell me how wonderful I looked which was nice! And then I felt really confident and sexy going to the drinks which was the most important thing.

We won't be getting back together I don't think but it was lovely and he told me I looked great and happy, which I was!
