Sunglasses that go over glasses?

So not the ones my dad uses for driving but is there something out there that I can wear that doesn’t make me look really sad? Currently wearing another pair of regular sunglasses over my glasses and yes I know it looks ridiculous!

I wear them over the top all the time. Can’t be faffed with prescription or clips.

I found some amazing 50’s cats eye type ones on holiday that completely cover my frames

l don’t give a shit if l look sad.

Ivw bought 2 pairs of prescription sunglasses glasses in the last 4 years and hate them both. So l just wear over the top

I could kick myself. I got new glasses in the spring and forgot to make sure that one pair were reactions (or whatever they're called in specsavers). Im so annoyed with myself.

My glasses were hugely expensive so I cant afford to get another pair with the reactions lenses in them. I dont know whether those over glasses ever look any good.

Contact lenses and sunglasses, so much easier if you can wear them

If your looking for inexpensive options check out firmoo, I now have various glasses with slight tints and heavier tints, different thicknesses and love them all, really can’t fault them at all.

I always think reactolites make me look like something out of the Gestapo. Although I’m not sure why.

This is the sort of thing I have

As well as being even less 'cool' than clip-ons, they don't change fast enough so you'll be walking into buildings and they'll still be dark for a while.

They are much better than they used to be, and change much faster. My relative wears them due to sun sensitivity and never has a problem with them not changing quickly enough.

If you have a separate pair of normal specs then you don't have that thing where you look like you are wearing sunglasses on a cloudy day.

Love the idea of magnetic sunglasses!

I had some with a pair of Boots glasses a few years ago. They were brilliant for driving. I tried photochromic lenses but they didn't react while I was driving. They are still a little tinted when at their lightest and didn't go dark enough for me.

The type of glasses you need are Cocoons , they are available online or at some opticians.
You measure the size & width of your specs and they send you the correct size.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 21/07/2022 18:50

Those Cocoon glasses are not very stylish though!

I've come to the conclusion that I need 3 pairs of specs:

One "normal" for everyday use; one prescription sunglasses for when you're likely to be outside all day in the sun; and one photochromic for when you are going to be both inside and outside a lot on a sunny day and can't be bothered having to keep swapping round between normal and sunglasses.

I might have to start saving though, as my lenses always seem to cost ££££...

I’ve just ordered a pair of sunglasses that go over the top of your regular glasses from Amazon. I could really do with some prescription sunglasses but these will help with driving at least for the time being.
