Which Van Cleef Alhambra necklace to choose?

As the title says ladies, a bit of help please! 😄 This will be a push present (I am due on the 12th of July!), I am currently choosing between these 2 necklaces from Van Cleef. I usually only use gold jewelry but my wedding band and engagement ring are platinum and diamonds. I also have a pearl necklace and use pearl earrings from time to time (with gold settings).

I am having a hard time choosing between these 2 as the pearl one is super classic which I love, but the gold one is also really nice with the textured clover. Buying something this expensive though I'm thinking maybe good to go classic (pearl) as it's also set in gold? I haven't been to the shop to try on yet so I'm not sure if some ladies here seen them in person (I've seen the pearl one but not the gold), which is nicer in person?

If it has any relevance I am of Asian origin and have olive/tan skin (Chinese Asian).

There's so much beautiful jewellery in the Middle East and you're paying a huge premium for the designer.

DeBeers has a similar one in their Enchanted Lotus collection. Their yellow gold option is nicer than the VC yellow gold design.

A £6K necklace for having a child?! Wow ... read the room OP. A lot of people on these threads are using food banks right now. I'm not suggesting you be embarrassed about choosing something this pricey, but give it some thought ... 🙄

@MiniCooperLover , this thread is in S&B and clearly indicated the level of luxury with the brand name. if your not familiar with VC&A why complain look and learn. plenty of people are not, shopping at value village or food banks. or maybe they do and spend their money on luxury goods.

I've had my eyes on the Alhambra for a while, I've seen it on a few ladies out here and it always strikes me as so simple but pretty at the same time. I think it's really classy and classic, so this is not an impulse type of purchase, I've thought it through.

@MiniCooperLover me and my husband work hard and earn fairly well out here, we have had a few bonuses and I wanted to treat myself to something timeless that will last forever (or DH wanted).... I'm not sure why I can't ask this question in S&B where a lot of threads are about luxury goods? Different if I posted in AIBU or Money Matters. And it's about 2k not 6k 😬

My partner's mother has both gold and pearl but i think the pearl is prettier and works beautifully with her skin tone (she is also SE Asian)
