Are Champo hair products any good?

Before I potentially waste a load of money has anyone used Champo hair products? The Pitta oil in particular? I used to have really thick hair but now I'm noticing that every time I brush my hair so much hair is coming out 😢 I've started swimming regularly and tie my hair up in a bun too much which I'm working on stopping and making sure I wash my hair after swimming but the social media for Champo has my attention and the reviews are good... but I'd be interested if anyone on here has had success with it as website reviews can be fixed.

Not tried it, but from my experience expensive shampoo and conditioner hasn't been worth it. Currently trying to use up a £10+ bottle of shampoo I don't like

If you swim a lot, putting cheap conditioner on it before going swimming can help

poppypetal · 28/06/2022 19:35

I’ve literally just bought the pita shampoo, conditioner and oil. I’ve only used it once, so it’s far too early to tell, but I’m not keen on the shampoo. It doesn’t lather at all, although the second wash was slightly better. That being said, if it works then I’ll be happy!

DuchessOfSausage · 28/06/2022 20:02

That sounds a bit like my experience with the expensive shampoo, although it does lather a little. My hair doesn't feel clean after using it.
I've not tried the conditioner I got to go with it yet but I have a feeling that it will be less of a disappointment. It's not Champo, it's a well known brand (S M)

Not naming it as I like the ethics and it might just be my hair or the hard water or something. Avalon Organics is really nice though, and I'll buy that again - the lemon one smells gorgeous

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/06/2022 20:23

Do you use a swimming cap?

slummymummy82 · 29/06/2022 18:07

Thanks everyone, I've done some more googling and found a cheap ish option that you can put on your hair before swimming to protect it. I'd never thought of something like that, thanks for the suggestion of putting conditioner on it. I also came across an oil which has biotin in it which I'm also going to give a try. Swim cap is a good idea I just hate them. Better than losing my hair though!

I have been struggling with hair thinning for a while and I have tried a lot of products on the market including the Pitta Serum and shampoo from Champo. It's been 3 months I am using it now and I have noticed a massive change in the amount of hair falling out. I used to find chunks of hair after shower and when dying my hair at home it was the worst. The Pitta serum has worked its magic and my scalp looks healthier, thicker and fuller hair and growing and most importantly I am not losing hair anymore. It seems expensive but you only need 3 drops per day then massage your scalp so it's not a bad investment considering it's all natural ingredients going to your hair and into your skin. I recommend the product 100%.

Sunnymumma · 06/01/2023 16:33

Yes! I’ve been using the Champo range for a while and make sure I reorder before I run out. It’s superb. It doesn’t lather because it doesn’t contain silicones, although you can get a decent hair wash and it’s not squeaky like some other non silicone shampoo.
the Pitta serum is amazing, you just have to try it to see the difference. I was skeptical because of all the ultra positive reviews. I switched from Olaplex because it was becoming so extortionately expensive and I thought that was amazing, Champo has been even more fantastic for my hair

AnSionnachGlic · 06/01/2023 18:32

I've been using their shampoo and conditioner for last few months as my hair had been falling out in clumps( have shoulder length, normally thick hair). I can honestly say that I've found a huge improvement....my hair looks the best it's looked for years and am only losing few hairs now. I'm a convert!!

Haydolly · 22/01/2023 11:47

hi, just been reading all your reviews on Champo products. I have just purchased the Pitta growth serum oil to try & help with my thinning hair around my parting & hoping this serum will encourage less fallout & more hair growth at some point. I must admit i was a little unsure when was best to use this , either morning or night on dry or wet hair as it will coat the hair & scalp leaving it very greasy & in need of washing which is something I am trying to avoid everyday & prefer every few days I would appreciate any advice or tips with using this product as the reviews I have read on social media don’t really reflect this Thanks x

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 22/01/2023 12:02

I’ve just bought the Pita shampoo and conditioner. I was sceptical but it’s heartening to read these comments so I’ll persevere with it.

Sluj · 22/01/2023 12:05

It made my hair feel thicker, like thick straw !! Really drying on my fine, wavy hair

KillerSandy · 22/01/2023 12:06

I have just bought it and from the first time I used it it gave my hair amazing volume. You do have to use a small amount of the shampoo and mix it up in your hand first ( it does take some getting used to) but I love it. I also have the serum.
I also use Shu Uemera shampoo etc which is a wonderful one too.
I do believe that you get what you pay for with hair products.

Sunnymumma · 23/01/2023 11:41

Start off with just a couple of drops…when you’ve towel dried your hair, rub intro your scalp and then dry as usual. The serum is for your scalp, not your hair so it shouldn’t coat your hair if you’ve massaged into your head properly. Use whenever you wash. I don’t use on dry hair

Rosaleenfrancemary · 29/01/2023 12:02

Hi all, I've been using Champo products for a couple of months. It is expensive, I agree. I was sceptical but was willing to try it as my hair has got very thin and it's fine. I went through their questionnaire so that my hair type was identified and I've been using the Pitta shampoo and conditioner and the hair serum. They clearly tell you that it's not supposed to create a lot of lather, so you have to get used to that and my hair definitely feels really nice after using it. More importantly, the hair growth serum is DEFINITELY working. I've got new hair growth and I think you need to be patient because you're not going to sprout new, long hair overnight, but it's certainly made a difference to new hair growth for me and I intend to keep using it as it's an investment in me and how it makes me feel. So, I think it works.

jenniferjane · 04/02/2023 18:53

I am an older 'mummy' and have been suffering with thinning hair and lack of volume. Since using Champo pitta I have to report that I have no hair fall that I notice, my hairs looks and feels so nice after I use this, thicker and shinier. The secret is not to use too much shampoo, always use the conditioner, and use the serum immediately after washing, just on scalp not hair. I honestly can say try as I might, I cannot find a product that is better than this.

nineteen71 · 05/03/2023 07:18

@Haydolly hi, just wonder how's pitta growth serum going? Thanks

KillerSandy · 05/03/2023 11:42

I have now been using the serum for well over a month and very happy with it. -I use it after every hair wash - just a tiny amount around my hairline and up the parting. It dries with a bit of oomph too but don't use too much or it will be sticky!

PomRuns · 04/11/2023 08:25

I wondered how every one was getting on with the products.

Do you think ok to use just the serum and not the shampoo/ conditioner?

Nessie2023 · 03/12/2023 10:40

great tips! I been using the pitta oil on dry hair so will change that up

i see they have a brow serum now aswell…am thinking of just using the Pitta serum that I have on my brows. Prob the same formula…?!

CinnamonJellyBeans · 03/12/2023 11:00

I have looked at the price and the ingredients of the Champo pitta serum.

For active ingredients for actual growth/hair loss, I see:

caffeine - the jury is out on this
clover extract - yes
chebula fruit - not seen this one before. It prevents hair fall due to fungus, which I imagine is not so relevant to most of us.

There are a lot of nice-smelling oil extracts that sound impressive, but are cheap as chips and have no hair growth properties.

The Oridnary hair serum has a lot more recognised extracts that actually have a hair-growth function and is way cheaper.

I am happy to be corrected on this, if anyone can give better advice on the ingredients and their properties.

App13 · 03/12/2023 11:42

I bought them and nope didn't do anything special so gave it them away.

I think they're over hyped with advertising and being endorsed.

I totally believe in Oribe, which people in the know say are the holy grail.

99cats · 03/12/2023 12:02

I have completed a whole bottle of shampoo, conditioner and the oil and although I don’t dislike the products, I haven’t noticed any benefits. The shampoo takes some getting used to and I have to use more than it says or my hair just isn’t clean. I won’t purchase again.

99cats · 03/12/2023 12:04

@App13 gosh, Oribe products are really expensive!

App13 · 03/12/2023 12:10

99cats · 03/12/2023 12:04

@App13 gosh, Oribe products are really expensive!

I use the Royal blowout it lasts a year

If you check space nk you can see what amazing reviews it gets.

I know they're expensive but given the state of my hair its the only stuff that works

Paradiseflycatcher · 03/12/2023 12:17

Does the pitta serum oil leave hair looking greasy? I get it's meant for the scalp but surely it will get in the hair even if only the roots, when it's massaged on.
