Are Champo hair products any good?

Before I potentially waste a load of money has anyone used Champo hair products? The Pitta oil in particular? I used to have really thick hair but now I'm noticing that every time I brush my hair so much hair is coming out 😢 I've started swimming regularly and tie my hair up in a bun too much which I'm working on stopping and making sure I wash my hair after swimming but the social media for Champo has my attention and the reviews are good... but I'd be interested if anyone on here has had success with it as website reviews can be fixed.

@App13 thank you, I’m going to look now

I didn't see any difference after using the Pitta shampoo and conditioner unfortunately. Only the Aveda Pure Abundance makes a difference to my super fine baby hair.

I'm following/bumping this thread. I've just got the Champo growth serum, shampoo and conditioner for Christmas so interested to see if it thickens up my thin/fine hair!

Serum smells nice, that's all I've found so far. Haven't used the shampoo or conditioner yet.

dazzlingdeborahrose · 28/12/2023 22:31

Worst shampoo I ever bought. My hair felt dirty for the three months I used it. Did nothing to make my hair look it feel thicker. Never again.

I actually threw my shampoo away, it made my coloured hair feel like straw 🙃

KillerSandy · 29/12/2023 09:47

@Sluj it did too with mine when wet but when dry it wasn't.

Champo products really helped my hair when it was falling out after steroids. It also smells absolutely gorgeous

Does the pitta serum oil leave hair looking greasy? I get it's meant for the scalp but surely it will get in the hair even if only the roots, when it's massaged on.

The pitta serum isn't oily so you can massage it into the roots without making your hair look greasy.

ChristmasinBurrRidge · 29/12/2023 10:29

The Oridnary hair serum has a lot more recognised extracts that actually have a hair-growth function and is way cheaper.

Be careful with this product - there are lots of reports of increased shedding with use.

It did nothing for my fine hair, it actually dried out my hair to a weird straw like texture...I've tried both the pitta and kapha ranges and disappointed with both.

I’ve been using the champo pitta set for a couple of weeks now and it so far has made my hair really lank. I’m definitely washing it out properly and only use a drop of serum on my crown so not sure what’s going wrong but I’m not impressed so far 😭

HundredMilesAnHour · 29/01/2024 14:14

Has anyone using the Champo Pitta serum also used the Kerastase Genesis serum? I'm wondering how the two compare?

GrannyWeatherwaxsHatpin · 14/04/2024 22:51

To add to this thread, I bought the Kapha shampoo on the back of Champo’s questionnaire to gauge your hair type.

It’s not great. I can’t use it on its own as my hair goes lank after a couple of washes, but also straw-like at the same time unless I absolutely douse my hair in conditioner (a non-Champo one, I’m not made of money…)

I’m using it up as I’m loathe to throw away a £20 bottle of shampoo or end up using it on my horse but only when I’m washing my hair twice and I’ve used a different shampoo first. There’s no way I could use it on its own.

I’ll be going back to Aveda’s Shampure when I’ve finally finished this bottle.

I emailed and asked for a refund as the pitta shampoo and conditioner were so awful for my hair, and they asked if I would try the kapha, but were happy to refund if I didn't want to. I tried the kapha, and it is much better for my hair type, but just not as good as the Aveda Invati range which I will be going back to once the Champo is used up.

@GrannyWeatherwaxsHatpin if you really hate the shampoo, email them and get a refund, and spend the money on something that your hair likes :)

I bought it in Selfridges so I'd probably have to schlep to London to take it back, but thank you for the suggestion :)

I've just started the Pitta growth serum. I'm going through a hair moult phase and losing a lot of the little I have.

AreYouBrandNew · 06/10/2024 21:03

Bump in this thread to see if anyone has had results with the pitta growth serum. I’ve been using for 4 weeks for mix of stress/hormonal shedding. First time today I’ve combed my hair today and had no shedding. Might have turned a corner.

I’ve also bought Scandanavian biolabs with micro needle to try.
