Or are the colours a bit girlish ?

I'm seeing it with a bag and shoes in one of the detail colours (probably not the same one) and some sort of ornament in my hair, rather than a hat or fascinator.

It's a fairly big but working class do, if that's a reasonable way to describe it.

It’s perfect.

Lovely dress and very appropriate

toomanydicksonthedancefloor1 · 27/06/2022 17:48

Oh wow! That is absolutely stunning.

I think there's quite a few colours would be nice for shoes and bag. Personally i think I would choose silver.

Littlemissprosecco · 27/06/2022 17:51

It’s lovely. I would go for powder blue accessories and let the dress do the talking!!

Marvellous!

Would the yellow colour in the centre of the white flowers be OK/ridiculous for shoes? And the deep pink for a bag?

Beautiful dress and perfect for the occasion.

I personally think yellow and pink would be too much colour. Maybe pale pink / nude shoe with darker pink headband and a silver clutch?

Hmm, maybe powder blue shoes and a yellow bag?

Those hairstyles are lovely. Not exactly sure what I'd do with one in my hair, that's a work in progress 😆

I’ve just bought a dress from Hobbs, for a wedding abroad, and they sell shoes, bags and fascinators in the same/compliment colour to match the dress, which is beautiful by the way. So maybe go back with the dress and let them help you choose. The ladies in my local store were really helpful. My dilemma is whether to take my fascinator back as it’s a beach wedding and I don’t want to be over dressed/formal. I’m mob.

goldfinchonthelawn · 27/06/2022 18:02

It's beautiful.

SageRosemary · 27/06/2022 18:06

The dress is very beautiful.

There's quite a lot of colour (subtle) and pattern (understated) so I think you could match your shoes and your bag. I think silver would be lovely as a PP has suggested.

Or, lemon, as you mentioned yourself:

I love the dress. I think it would be beautiful eith a silver clutch and grey or powder blue shoe as I think colours would distract and the print is so lovely.

blitzen · 27/06/2022 18:07

I really love that dress. I feel quite strongly that your shoes and handbag should match. Either pale blue suede or cerise. (Or whatever colour the pinky flowers are. Cerise on my screen). But both the same rather than contrasting.

How about these for shoes:

ColourfulOnesie · 27/06/2022 18:08

Thats beautiful
I would go with pink shoes and bag, either the paper pink or the More cerise pink from the dress
I would match shoes & bag always but definitely in the case with such a patterned dress

ColourfulOnesie · 27/06/2022 18:09

Paler* not paper 🙄

blitzen · 27/06/2022 18:09

Drat, pale blue out of stock at John Lewis.

Here's what I was trying to share

Now feel quite strongly that shoes and bag shouldn't match. It's such a conventional dress that I feel at least one of shoes or bag should have a bit of edge.

I think you are in danger of looking "busy" or "dizzy" if you introduce 2 more colours in your accessories. You may get away with it if you get the matching blue shoes which will make you look lovely and tall and well put together, and add a bag in a similar tone of pale lemon or sage green, keep to frosted pastel colours. But adding pale lemon and cerise into the mix will be too much of a contrast.

SuperTea · 27/06/2022 18:57

I think it's quite a bright yellow/mustard colour, not lemon?

Yes, I'm currently thinking pale blue shoes (but not those boring courts 😆) and an interesting yellow bag.Or maybe pink , if I chicken out.

These are pretty

Maybe an ice blue bag would go well
Great dress!

HeadNorth · 27/06/2022 19:00

I think matching bag & shoes is old fashioned and could tip a beautiful floral dress into frump territory. I would go for contrasting coloured shoes and bag as you suggest OP - and definitely not a cerise pashmina!
