WTF has happened to Boden?

Used to get a lot of stuff from Boden but don't like them now and haven't really found other places I like as much.
Just had a look at Boden's new stuff and I can't be alone in thinking tihs top is hideous?

Well, I wouldn't wear it to pop out to the supermarket. But on a "jeans and a nice top" night out I'd wear it.

I just had a look. The clothes are a bit like if Accessorize decided to move into clothing - a lot of white with jewel colours, ‘boho’ prints, strange shapes. None of it looks very flattering and a lot of the prints are quite childish.

Boden always had a fair amount of “fun print” crap among the nice stuff. It’s the increase in price and decrease in quality that has meant I hardly buy from them any more though.

I like it on the model, would look horrible on me. I find some of their prints garnish but generally like their stuff, if I could afford it :(

Boden always had the minging hotpotch dresses hanging around, but it looks like the hotpotch designer has now elbowed out her sensible companions and taken over the entire brand. Nasty embellishments and slogans everywhere.

Another who would never even bother looking at Boden but would happily wear that top! It would go with my leather mini 😀

It’s not very Boden, which is probably why I like it.

I like it but am narrow shouldered with decent arms, so it would look ok on me. Whereas the long, prairie frocks look atrocious on me.

I used to quite like the colour-block and "hotchpotch" style they did, along with good quality basics like corduroy and denim skirts and jersey shirts. The current stuff is overpriced for the quality and I'm not sure who it's aimed at now, as most styles would only suit someone tall and slim like their models.

I was asked to do a boden survey lately, some of the questions were quite weird... but a lot of them were with comparison to mint velvet and other more expensive retailers, so I wonder whether they've increased their prices but are struggling to create the designs and reputation to break through into a more high-end bracket? (While simultaneously annoying their loyal Breton top and printed tunic with pocket buying customer base with the price increase).

I really don't see what so offensive about that top. It's just a black tee with a slightly dramatic sleeve.

I'm not usually a big Boden fan but their swimwear this season is amazing.

They've got much more expensive and the style isn't always practical. A bit try hard but it was always so with its full on prints.

It's not great. Mainly just impractical but if I were going for a statement shoulder I'd want luxury fabric not plain black Jersey. The green one looks like it would be great as part of a tinkerbell costume!

This top is not a good example of what it wrong with boden. Mainly its being an expensive way to look like a style free frump. They have awful prints, hideous cuts and nasty fabrics tthat are polyester sweaty and/or don't wash well. It's a shame they were known for the opposite.

Its universally said that boden is awful now. Who is still shopping there? Have they captured the well off geriatric market of people who actually want animals on their clothes?
