M & S, was I just lucky?

Shopping today for some chinos with OH and discovered just how dire the high street choices are, except for M & S. He bought two pairs of chinos, 3 t shirts and a pair of shoes. They all feel lovely quality cotton. I also found a lovely pair of good quality chinos for me (womens) which look great. Usually I have to try on 10 pairs for every one that fits. Some of the stuff they are getting in is spot on. Was I just lucky today?

Zara on the other hand were awful and as for Cos, tbh I'm fed up with voluminous drapey things.

M&S have upped their game - good buyers - loving their Insta posts !

I am absolutely loving M&S this year! I have bought loads of lovely stuff - several soft, good quality neutral t-shirts, several pairs of great jeans, my first pair of shorts in years, very nice linen, perfectly drapy vest tops, a couple of great skirts that are much nicer and cheaper than the more expensive brands I would usually turn too and a couple of perfectly nice, reasonably priced blazers. Oh and a couple of pairs of great sunglasses. And a lovely bag. I usually only shop there for underwear and kids’ uniform. They are definitely getting it right for me this year. The gym wear looking very tempting too! My mates laugh at me as I have become a bit of an M&S evangelist.

I think M&S have considerably upped their game in the past couple of years but I have always thought that the men's choices have been excellent. Lovely polo and colourful short sleeved cotton shirts and the slightly longer length shorts for summer plus tees in a huge range of colours and neck shapes and footwear too, especially boat shoes and sandals.
I have gone mad, wishing that womens wear would be as classically designed as that on offer to men. My OH, who doesn't usually shop there, was with me last week and bought up half a dozen of almost everything including lovely cashmere sweaters to throw on when evenings get a bit chilly.
I have about 8 pairs of chinos, 4 are last year's straight leg style so comfy yet smart.
I must stop buying their clothes and shoes but I have my eye on some pretty lingerie and an oversized white cotton shirt....
H&M recently gifted me 25% off the whole of one order across their ranges including sale items, to be used by mid November, so I, my family and some friends are going to put in a shipping order when the Autumn ranges come online. Oh dear 😳

I did a bit of a panic shop at M&S before a holiday last month and was pleasantly surprised - nice cargo pants, 2 pairs of shorts, Lily slim jeans and two really comfy crop top/ bralettes. Pleased with them all!

All of us (me old person, two teens) get our gym leggings from M & S! I have nice bootcut jeans from last year. Always bought their cool wear thin tights as they have a pale version not found elsewhere. Fantastic pair of pale pink leather boots, last year as well. I haven't managed to get in this year, I order all the underwear and gym stuff online, sounds like I should!

I love m&s chinos and lily jeans (apart from the grey ones which are a size bigger than the blue!).

I agree that they have upped their game. Their Meadowhall branch has a huge lingerie department.
