Just that really!
I don’t get spots often but when I do they are of the huge and sore variety and nothing i ever use seems to help!
Would love to know any tips for products you lot rate!
thanks x

I'm reading this with interest as I'm getting more and more of these painful under skin lumps. 😢

I've got all of the following:

  • neutrogena pink grapefruit facewash for daily wash morning and night
  • freederm (niacin amide) for bringing spots down and reduce swelling
  • derma rehab skin patches to clear them up quicker
  • la Roche posay effaclar duo (prevention and to clear up clusters /outbreaks of spots and reduce redness)
  • for "under the skin" hard boils, I often end up having to stick a pin in to pop whatever is causing the swelling and pain. I've got one near the eye and it's causing the eye area to swell like a black eye.

I'm still covered with spots. 😢 I don't mind the disfigurement, but the pain is another level.

I also use toothpaste. Not in public though.

I use tret so have less spots generally but I have duac in the fridge for these emergencies ( antibiotic plus benzoyl peroxide ) - can easily buy it online

stevalnamechanger · 16/06/2022 23:51

I’d look after my liver. When I do, no spots, ever!

How do you look after your liver out of interest?
I don’t drink if that’s what you mean? Still get awful spots though

Neverendingmindfuck · 17/06/2022 10:32

Tea tree oli for me too. It dries them out I find.

Neverendingmindfuck · 17/06/2022 10:32

Oil obviously (MN please give us an edit button 🙏)

Barney60 · 17/06/2022 10:55

Another for Tea tree oil, good quality NEVER near the eyes.

This stuff from BalanceMe does the trick for me: www.balanceme.com/gb/congested-skin-serum-15ml/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9Kbw-Zy0-AIVzO3tCh2bYgGuEAAYASAAEgLRqvD_BwE

I’ve never found anything that stops a spot from brewing for me (Acnecide reduces the incidence of them, but doesn’t get rid of current ones and nothing else listed here has ever done it for me), but if you’ve made a bit of a mess of one then the hydrocolloid spot patches are amazing at helping them heal. I get mine off Amazon, don’t think the brand matters much.

In desperation on holiday when I forgot my patches & had chin eruptions I cut part of a compeed blister plaster off & stuck it on my spots overnight. Worked brilliantly as an emergency measure, but an expensive use of compeed!

Hand sanitizer

Aworldofmyown · 17/06/2022 13:05

anon666 you need to stop using any face cleaner that foams. Get a cleansing balm.
