Small yellow bumps near eye - how to have removed?

I have two tiny whitish/yellow lumps beneath my eye, they could well be cholesterol related as mine is quite high. Does anyone have any experience of having these removed? How did you go about it? Even if my cholesterol was to lower, I doubt these would suddenly drop off!

They are really getting on my nerves now and they are slightly unsightly.

Ummm I had a hard white lump under my eye and I picked at it with a needle, squeezed the white stuff out (that was sort of chalky?) and then it healed

Are yours bigger / pus filled or anything?

PunishmentRoundupWithJoon · 04/06/2022 22:08

I've looked at Xanthelasma -(cholesterol related fatty lumps) but it says they are on the inner corner of the eyes, mine are on the outer corner, below.

I get these and do the same as Shirley. They're white heads. Sebum under the skin. Carefully Prick with a needle and squeeze. They'll then completely disappear in a few days.

PunishmentRoundupWithJoon · 04/06/2022 22:11

@ShirleyPhallus - no, no pus. They don't seem to be 'filled', just small waxy lumps. Not like boils or spots. They seem like growths on top of the skin, closer to skin tags than anything else I can think of.

@AgathaBrazen - I've had whiteheads in the past and have done the same. These are definitely a different breed. Nothing under the skin, just kind of placed on top and stuck on!

Is it milia? I think a derm can remove them.

FuncaMunca · 04/06/2022 22:19

Do you mean similar to milk spots? If so, I get these occasionally around my eye area. They go away by themselves or sometimes I force them out

Reallybadidea · 04/06/2022 22:28

I've had something similar literally right in the corner of my eye where my eyelids meet. I started wiping it with a cotton bud dipped in glycolic acid toner, oncea day. After about a week it just seemed to burst when I was drying my face on a towel, I poked some white waxy stuff out and it completely disappeared.

DisforDarkChocolate · 04/06/2022 22:33

My GP checked my cholesterol because I have these. I have low cholesterol so no idea why I have them.

PunishmentRoundupWithJoon · 04/06/2022 22:56

I'll try take a pic tomorrow. Definitely not whiteheads or milia. @Reallybadidea - that's an idea, acid of some kind. Got some glycolic pads somewhere.

Watching with interest. I have Xanthelasma and have no idea how to remove it, it makes me so self conscious. I have to do presentations etc at work and I feel everyone is looking at them.
also have a white spot under one of them so I’m going to try the needle trick.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 04/06/2022 23:10

Wash daily with a warm flannel, really have a good soak and a rub. After few days soak cotton wool on hot as you can stand water for about 5 mins then nick the top off with a sterilised needle. Easy peasy.

Microdermabrasion

HollyHocks13 · 04/06/2022 23:12

I had a Xanthelasma removed privately by a surgeon last year. You can't get rid of them yourself, they're not like millia...
I'm so glad I had it done as I was always conscious of it and hated seeing it in photos. I think it cost around £350 all in with consultation etc but was completely worth it!

Blephritus? Can you post a photo

do NOT squeeze or jab with a pin!!!

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 04/06/2022 23:17

Like these? I've got high cholesterol. Definitely can't pop them or squeeze anything out of them though.

Yes, Xanthelasma.

My GP referred me to have them removed under local anaesthetic at hospital.
Probably around 10 years ago now.

They were yellow/raised and are now flat/white - easily covered up with makeup.

They basically burnt them using some sort of acid and my eyes were black and blue for a few weeks afterwards.

Administering the local anaesthetic was the only painful part of the procedure due to the delicate skin around my eyes. Other than that, no pain whatsoever, just black/blue eyes!

Whyisitsodifficult · 04/06/2022 23:20

Sounds like milia. You can slit with a razor then squeeze, it’s like a small pearl popping out!

That's not what blepharitis is.

woodhill · 04/06/2022 23:24

Are they cysts

You have to be careful round your eyes

DrRuthGalloway · 04/06/2022 23:27

So many people not heard of xanthelasma.

Don't try to pop a xanthelasma. There's nothing to pop, as you rightly say. I developed them in pregnancy.

I keep intending to have them treated privately. Just need some healing time out of work.

KittenKong · 04/06/2022 23:27

Blephritus are small while lumps around the eye/on the eyelid (look like pimples). I get them and they bloody hurt of you squeeze them.

MissMaple82 · 04/06/2022 23:32

Sounds like milia spots. Do not try to remove. Specialist salons can remove

This.

People used to tell me I hadn’t rubbed my under eye concealer in or had something stuck under my eyes.

The number of times I had to tell people what it was!

SchoolThing · 05/06/2022 00:06

I dabbed mine with tea tree oil and they were gone in a couple of days.
