Cream blusher recommendations?

Sodthatforagameofsoldiers · 27/05/2022 09:58

I've started to find powder blusher looks a bit odd on me, not sure why. It suddenly looks really unnatural. Does anyone have a recommendation for a cream blusher? Or a very good powder blusher?

High street options would be good as I'll be in our local town centre later but I could order online too.

Thanks!

I use cream blush a lot and really rate Rose Inc and Westman Atelier blush but, if I could only have one, it would be the Milk Makeup Lip and Cheek stick. The shade Werk suits me and my DDs who are much fairer than me.
Ooh, Pixi Convertible Colour is also fabulous!

I've used max factor cream blush (the pot) for over a decade! It lasts ages and gives such a healthy glow. Very cheap too and lasts ages. Can get it at Superdrug or boots.

Glossier Cloud Paint has revolutionised blusher for me, it blends in so easily and looks just like a natural healthy glow. I've had my tube almost a year and can't have used even a third of it (almost daily use). The only thing to be aware of is that you only need a tiny amount and you have to squeeze the tube very carefully to avoid loads spilling out.

Second glossier cloud paint. It's really lovely and you only need a tiny bit.

Mercurial123 · 27/05/2022 10:50

Another vote for Glossiwr and Rose Inc.

I found Milk make up stick underwhelming.

Lobelia123 · 27/05/2022 10:53

Cream blusher is the bomb - so easy to apply and blend and is just so kind on your skin and easy to wear. Im a fan of Bobbi Brown cream blushes and play around with a few different shades from coral to bright pink to light pink. I like to mix a drop of Bio Oil in to add the extra glow - although not too much :)

Watercolour blush is the way forward. It’s extremely natural and doesn’t give that dried out look.

check Daniel Sandler watercolour blush. They do tiny Samples that last ages as you need such a small amount!

I like Laura Mercier. Bit pricier than high street options but you can usually get it 20% off somewhere.

Lookingoutside · 27/05/2022 15:08

Go for Glossier cloud paint if you can!

If high street is a must then Maybelline cheek heat is a great cloud paint dupe.

Sodthatforagameofsoldiers · 27/05/2022 16:08

Thanks so much everyone! Think I'll order the glossier cloud paint. Just need to choose a colour...

Really cheap and maybe more liquid than cream blush but the Revolution Dewy Blushes are fantastic.

Great colour payoff and it lasts

goldsparklyChocolate · 27/05/2022 22:51

Glossier cloud paint is good or Pearl beauty do really lovely blush sticks

Theleftsideoftheroad · 27/05/2022 23:27

Stila convertible colour is fantastic.

KILM · 27/05/2022 23:33

Glossier cloud paint again here, i just apply with fingers, it looks so natural! Im very pale and just apply the shade Puff very lightly, you need SO little i dont know if i will ever ever run out - you need to concentrate a smidge more than using powder blush as you need to make sure you only squeeze the tiniest amount out of the tube but its very easy to apply once on. Total convert from powder.

PumpkinCrumble · 27/05/2022 23:39

One tip with Cloud Paint is to stick a pin the metal tab, instead of peeling it off. That way you only squeeze out a small amount.

PumpkinCrumble · 27/05/2022 23:40

Stick a pin in, to make a smaller hole. In case that wasn’t clear…

What a great idea!

I wish they would do away with those bloody screw on tops too. Not good when rushing and I’m sick of dropping them on the bathroom floor, in train toilets etc 🙄

Sodthatforagameofsoldiers · 28/05/2022 00:05

Oh brilliant - thanks. I can foresee me losing the screw top in approximately 12 seconds from receiving it, but never mind!

I struggled to choose a colour so bought 2 in the end, basically a light pink and a dark pink. None of the models were remotely my colouring (very white skin, dark hair, green eyes) so I just had to guess at what might suit.

Loving the look of the cloud paint but no idea which colour to choose ! I'm pale with dark hair and blue eyes any ideas anyone ?

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 28/05/2022 09:59

Elf’s putty blush is lovely, little bit firmer than a cream but still a soft texture. They had a buy one get one half price offer on in Superdrug so I bought their hydrating camo concealer too, which is also amazing.

PerpetualStudent · 28/05/2022 10:06

Face Theory do a nice mineral oil/silicone free liquid blush www.facetheory.com/products/blusher very similar to cloud paint, though a more limited colour-range

Lookingoutside · 28/05/2022 11:58

@lollipoprainbow

I would get the duo (£25) in Puff and Dusk.

I’m pale and puff is perfect on my cheeks while Dusk goes around my hairline and under my cheek bones like a bronzer.

They also mix really well.

lollipoprainbow · 28/05/2022 12:06

@Lookingoutside thanks !

Sodthatforagameofsoldiers · 28/05/2022 17:39

I bought Puff and Dusk for my pale skin but somehow seemed to miss the duo at £25 and bought them both at £15 each. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Here's hoping they're worth it!
