Would you come to my Botox clinic?

Feel and look refreshed after your summer holidays abroad.

Would you be happy to receive Botox and filler treatments from a UK medically qualified doctor with PhD in skin regeneration and a background in plastic surgery? Currently not working as small children at home (childcare could be sorted out/hoping for more flexible work out of hospital).

We don't currently live in the UK but in a holiday destination favoured by Brits. If you were to go on holiday, would you be up for treatment, say within your hotel complex if I were to provide services right there?

No. You don’t sound very professional. Why haven’t you thought of these very obvious points yourself? If you really are a medical doctor, surely you would know about aftercare, etc? And you were rude to the first poster. I wouldn’t believe you and I’d think you weren’t competent or even qualified.

catfunk · 18/04/2022 09:41

@carefullycourageous

No, because Botox makes people look weird and these sort of treatments are exploitative.
@carefullycourageous assume you've never bought moisturiser, anti wrinkle creams, serum, even make up then? Botox is the only anti wrinkle treatment that actually works.
Noclosure · 18/04/2022 09:42

No because I want to go to the same person every time and also because I'd be wanting it to kick in BEFORE my holiday so it would be looking done for my time away. Little benefit if it starts to take effect once I'm home.

CoconutAmericano · 18/04/2022 09:43

Its the lack if after care that would put me off I'm afraid.

Motnight · 18/04/2022 09:44

@savedbyanaluwn - crap response to a poster - 'haggard and old'?? Reported.

Umm sunscreen works! Much cheaper than Botox and easy to use on holiday.

Snowiscold · 18/04/2022 10:03

I’d think you weren’t a very good doctor if you think this is an acceptable way to practise. I might assume you were a charlatan, doing this on the down-low after having been struck off - that’s if you actually are a doctor.

WhyTheWhales · 18/04/2022 10:08

No. I've had botox, but there's no way I'd have it somewhere I was on holiday so no follow up appointment unless I was planning to stay 2 weeks plus.

Agree with suggestions to ask in the expat community and run a proper clinic with consultation first and aftercare including follow up appointment

WhyTheWhales · 18/04/2022 10:10

One side note; I think I'm one of very few people I know who has had botox and doesn't really rate it! It got rid of some wrinkles, but can't say it was life changing or anything. Found the results pretty meh tbh. But I seem to be in a minority. I have only had it once and probably won't have it again

Ethelily · 18/04/2022 10:10

No I wouldn't have Botox abroad on holiday for the multitude of reasons already pointed out above. I want to be able to drink daily and not avoid sun, make up or exercise.

If you are looking to advertise to Uk based clients, it would also be illegal to advertise a POM in the UK - as I'm sure you're aware, there's been a huge crackdown recently on the advertisement of Botox particularly on social media which seems to be how most practitioners get their clients.

If there is a large expect community, I would set up a clinic with them as my target client.

Ethelily · 18/04/2022 10:11

EXPAT not expect Easter Confused

User0610134049 · 18/04/2022 10:13

I’m not your target market as I am not up for injecting anything into my face BUT just imagining I am for a minute… I’m not sure I would ever have it done on holiday because doesn’t it look a bit strange/fresh straight away and need time to settle down? Surely the kind of people who are into Botox would get it leading up to their holiday so they “look their best” (in their mind) while they’re away
Also the after care issue - I doubt practitioners in the uk would want to take on aftercare for procedures they haven’t don’t themselves and you’d need after care partners all over the place

Wagsandclaws · 18/04/2022 10:15

As a regular user for f Botox and fillers you sound a bit unprofessional at best ...

ProfessorSillyStuff · 18/04/2022 10:18

Botox is horrible, every batch causes animal suffering and there is no benefit to anyone except the profiteering "doctors" ( first do no harm, remember?!), real beauty is inside!

Hoppinggreen · 18/04/2022 10:20

@WhoopsieFairy

OK, you have clearly added value to this thread.

Isn't it a shame journalists aren't given bank holidays off.

TonkaTruckduck · 18/04/2022 10:32

Im loyal to my botox lady, she knows my face. Plus there's the potential for bruising etc on holiday.
I'd prefer to get it before I go.

MrsSkylerWhite · 18/04/2022 10:34

No

GivenchyDahhling · 18/04/2022 10:37

I’d be a bit suspicious about why a medical doctor, with a PhD, was offering Botox treatments that up until relatively recently basically anyone (in the UK at least) could offer. It would make me think there was a reason they weren’t able to practice in their trained profession.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 18/04/2022 10:40

In a 'holiday complex'? I wouldn't even get my toenails clipped in a complex with somebody coming to a hotel room saying 'I'm a Podiatrist just working around my children who are playing out front'.

You'd need a proper clinic. You know, like going back to work.

fishingforflies · 18/04/2022 15:30

I probably never go on holidays in holiday complex's and I've never had Botox or fillers, so I'm not necessarily a person to answer - but aren't you better off just setting up in business, rather like hair dressers do?
Most people don't get their haircut on holiday - they want it done for the holiday - I assume it's the same for Botox etc.

Oatsandstuff · 18/04/2022 15:31

Op won’t be back
I hope message received that no bloody way!

RainbowCrayons · 18/04/2022 17:56

Are you talking about Dubai? There are reports of people operating without one, but legally you need a licenece and can get if trouble with police if you are caught doing botox etc without one. I may be totally off on where you mean but it might be worth checking out what you will need to do legally to prove your credentials wherever you work.
