Has anyone had this? Did it work? Can you still move your mouth properly??

I had fillers for mine and was really impressed. Didn’t go overboard and I still looked like the middle-aged woman I am- just marginally less miserable.

jeaux90 · 09/04/2022 11:41

Fillers. I had a great result.

harriethoyle · 09/04/2022 11:45

Another one voting for fillers. I asked my botox lady on my last appointment and that's what she recommended

HeatherShiver · 09/04/2022 12:23

Yeh love mine can 100% move my face ;)

PandoraP · 09/04/2022 14:22

I had fillers and love it so much. I look myself before I developed the lines.

Almostwelsh · 09/04/2022 14:27

The clinic I go to which has qualified surgeons operating doesn't recommend Botox around the mouth as it can affect your smile. Fillers is what they recommend.

thecatsmum12346 · 09/04/2022 14:51

Yes. I had it done ages ago. Best thing ever. I’m 55 now and slightly less grumpy and angry looking. It’s fillers you get though, not Botox. And make sure the person who does it is skilled etc

IEatChocolateForBreakfast · 09/04/2022 14:54

For those of you who got fillers, did you get them along the lines themselves, or along your cheek bones to lift them?

PandoraP · 09/04/2022 15:05

@IEatChocolateForBreakfast, cheeks to lift. Honestly it was amasing and you see the results straight away.

EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter · 09/04/2022 15:17

In the lines themselves. I have great cheekbones and if they’d stuck fillers in there I’d have looked like Madonna!

So my face was still my face, just without the crevasses.

PlainJaneEyre · 09/04/2022 15:17

Of course you can move your mouth. As others have said it's fillers . I have had twice and it lasts on me about 18 months. The difference is huge!

Mine does a small line on cheeks ( he says it's like sticking a pole underneath curtains) and then the lines.

I'm an aesthetic practitioner. Botox is not for marionette lines. It's fillers that fix this. Have a good look around or ask friends for recommendations for a qualified medical professional

Wi11liwonka · 10/04/2022 18:20

@Secretsout any thoughts on profilho, which I'm currently researching?

Yes, it's great. I personally have it. It's not the most comfortable treatment but worth the 10 minutes of pain 😂

Initially you have to have 2 treatments one month apart so it is quite expensive but repeat treatments are affordable.

Wi11liwonka · 10/04/2022 21:33

Thanks @Secretsout!

mealdeal20 · 10/04/2022 21:38

No for Botox, but have tried both cheek filler and fillers in the lines themselves for this.
The fillers in the lines certainly made a more dramatic difference but in my opinion don't look quite right with the rest of the face. The cheek fillers looked more natural but only had a small effect on the lines - maybe a combination of both ?

RonaldMcDonald · 11/04/2022 02:16

Yes, once.
It was to freeze the muscle doing the downward pull.
It sadly worked better on one side than the other and I didn’t repeat as I looked wonky. I was also frightened for him to take a stab at correcting it.
It is hard to ensure the face remains not to heavy at the bottom with lots of filler needed for marionette limes.
Make sure your mid face and temples are right before tackling marionette lines. Also enquire about the space around your nose - sometimes it can take filler too and the whole things can end up more natural and keep your original face shape

Botox is used for marionette lines by many advanced practitioners- but even then it is not guaranteed success The guy who does mine prefers botox in this area plus fillers to strengthen jaw, nasal fossa, mid face and temples v the often heavy and unnatural looking lower face often left by filler
MumUndone · 11/04/2022 21:03

Thanks all. According to the research I've done, you can get Botox in this area (as well as filler) which I was hoping would prevent the lines from getting any worse.

I do face exercises ( there’s loads on you tube) and I don’t have lines except one between my brows. I’m 55 and Pele often tell me my skin looks young. The exercises have also made my lips look much fuller.

Pandamel · 17/02/2023 13:39

Could anyone recommend a qualified medical professional they have used to get fillers for marionette lines in London?

5128gap · 17/02/2023 16:04

I've been having botox for 20 years and the only fail I had was when I allowed myself to be persuaded to have it around my mouth. I spent 4 months with a crooked smile.
Marionette lines need to be addressed by lifting them out not paralysing them or filling them in (you can get a puffy look that way)
So, yes to filler, but ideally in the cheek bones. Adding volume there subtly lifts the lower skin and smooths out the lines. You might then add a teeny bit in the lines themselves if they're still too deep but probably won't need to.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 17/02/2023 16:17

I’ve just had a course of Caci-really successful and none of the negatives of filler
