Is there anything worth trying for this (pic attached) other than Botox? Or a radical fringe 🤦‍♀️😂

@Bunty55 I've read a lot of the reviews on the frownies ( amzn.to/3x10wou ) and it looks more like a muscle training tape thing. No medication. I'm going to order some to try. I get bad tension headaches and am constantly scrunching my brow unconsciously. I'm hoping that using them might reduce the tension in my brows and relieve the pressure and strain I put on which contributes to pain and headaches. A reduction in the 11's would be a bonus.

I work from home so I could potentially wear them for 24hrs straight and hopefully see some good results

VerandaSanta · 04/04/2022 14:45

@Bunty55 @IEatChocolateForBreakfast

No they don't contain medication. They're literally just little paper strips which you stick to your forehead to stop the muscles from (in my case) frowning. I stick them on with water before bed, stick between my eyebrows, then I can't frown. I then peel them off in the morning. I look ridiculous but I sleep with an eye mask so this can disguise it if the DC wake in the night and ask why I have a plaster on my face.

They're definitely worth it in my opinion. My face wakes up smooth between the brows. If I don't wear them, the lines are soooo deep in the morning.

IEatChocolateForBreakfast · 04/04/2022 14:50

*I said paper, but meant fabric. Like a fabric plaster. There is a video on how to use them in the link I posted as well

Well I got myself some frownies (well smoothies actually) I shall update !! 😂 #praysforamiracle

@carefullycourageous

I don't see anything other than a small and normal line.

Do not get botox - people who have it think they look fine but they look weird. Botox looks worse than a wrinkle/line does. Honestly.

Only if you over-use it. I just got it once, and asked for half the dose because I was nervous, and ok my forehead didn’t move for 6 months, but it wore off. My face moves completely normally now. I was planning on getting another treatment when my frown lines came back, but they haven’t yet. I think it was worth it (£150 one off) and I’d totally get it again but perhaps limit it to half the dose and maybe once a year only - I don’t see what harm that could do.
balancebeam · 04/04/2022 17:15

£150.00 for Botox 😮

Are you sure? I wouldn't let someone inject my face for £150.00!

KalaniM · 04/04/2022 17:20

I wish Botox wasn’t so costly.

I use frownies and have done so for about 20 years.I’d look perpetually vexed without them.

VerandaSanta · 04/04/2022 19:50

OP, I've used the smoothies too as they were cheaper but they were no way near as good as the Frownies!

@IEatChocolateForBreakfast the Frownies really are paper.

doeadeeer · 04/04/2022 19:58

Could you try Tret? (Prescription Retinol).
I'm 32, this is a good age to start I think.

I use Dermatica - they send a bottle each month. It's really improved my skin texture. I'm a big fan.

I’m 44 and have quite a severe number 11 between the brows. Recently had Botox for the first time and it made no difference whatsoever. Now contemplating fillers!

waterlego · 04/04/2022 20:05

My Botox was also £150 but that’s because the practitioner is my friend and just charged me for the cost of the materials. Just as well really as it didn’t bloomin work Grin

Oh are they? I got messed up anyways and thought in my reply I had wrote paper, but hit was actually your reply 😂

I only remember her saying they were like a plaster or something in the video. I've bought them and they'll arrive tomorrow so will update in a bit to see if they work 😬

VerandaSanta · 04/04/2022 20:22

@IEatChocolateForBreakfast They really are great. If I miss a night wearing them I hate waking up and seeing them. When I wear one (which is 99% of the time) I wake up with no lines at all!

TinyRebel · 04/04/2022 20:25

I tried something with Syn-ake in it - a synthetic snake venom which paralyses the muscles. Worked well. Think I got my version from Aldi though.

@TinyRebel, sorry, totally off topic but couldn’t help but admire your username. I visited their brewery on Saturday!

ArabeI · 04/04/2022 20:40

I'm later 30s but I didn't/don't have lines. I started preventative/baby botox. So I can still move eyebrows and it looks natural (hopefully not deluded>

I'm about to start tret (I keep saying so, but I'm going to start this week) for the glow, but also as preventative measure. That might help, as has already been said.

I've heard surgical tape is as good as the frown-things, but cheaper. I think that's good for a temporary fix. Some people say glycolic acid helps (the sort you neutralise). If you search it up here the OP swore it reduced her forehead lines. It definitely makes skin tighter and smooth, though I've only just started that again.

NoToLandfill · 05/04/2022 00:47

Your forehead looks totally normal. Use retinol at night and SPF in the day.

PlainJaneEyre · 05/04/2022 01:15

You do have light 11s and sorry but you do have 3 horizontal lines across your forehead. They are quite noticeable for your age. Both of these things will get worse with time. A light Botox touch would be preventative and smooth it all out.

LouiseOuiOui · 05/04/2022 04:22

I’ve got the same and have used Botox to treat this in the past- it really does work. However I noticed I do it in my sleep- both frown and naturally crease my skin in that fold say when I sleep on my side. I have now started using Frownies in stead of Botox and I have to say they do work. I’m very pleased so far. I use one single triangle to cover it every night and love to peel it off in the morning to a super smooth line free area. The line is a little more visible in the evening again but I think it’s just to me.

microbius · 05/04/2022 12:49

I learned this on here so feel compelled to share. I frown a lot during my sleep (you probably do too), and wake up with vertical lines between my brows. I used brownies, they actually stop you frown. After running through a few packs, I tried artist tape. It is thinner than brownies, but £3 per huge roll and it does work in the same way!

I also use yoga ball (very small and dense ball) in the daytime to press and massage muscles that frown. They are very tense. My whole face gets very tense actually. So I use Bear, in the evening, to relax the face muscles. If you are like me, it will help, in a natural way

Changemaname1 · 05/04/2022 12:54

I started botox in my mid 20s ( I know I know ) for these lines and it completely reversed them but I think it’s harder to once they are more established .

Retinol !!

I only pay £170 and that’s with a doctor. It’s not that expensive really.
