Best white trainers?

I’m very late to the party on with this one but I want to buy some white trainers. Which brands are cool? I’ve no idea. I looked briefly today and they all seemed to have huge chunky soles which seemed a bit too trendy for a 40-something woman. Is there something out there that’s trendy but not too try-hard?

What style of trainer do you mean? Like converse/ Veja/ Superga style or New Balance/ Reebok/ “sneaker” type of style?

Not Converse - a bit more substantial than that, if that makes sense. Open to anything else!

Haven’t heard of Vega or Superga (v out of touch) so will google those now.

Adidas Stan Smiths. Adore them. So comfortable and light.

Another vote for the Stan Smiths, I’ve got black ones for work and cream ones as I really don’t like the super white ones in general, but they are fab!

Stan Smiths 100%. And if you’ve got small feet you can get in the kids ones. In a 5 and ingot two pairs in the JD Sports kids sale
last summer.

I like my Vejas a lot, in terms of how they look, but they aren’t as comfy as Stan Smiths or my plan white Supergas. I LOVE my high top platform sole converse, especially with tapered or cuffed jeans or wide leg/ flared jeans. On the more sneaker style, I’m really liking my white and cream New Balance 574s

These are the go to white trainers for 40 somethings tbh!

Yep I am 40 something and have a couple of pairs of Vejas. They are comfy and I love them.

For all the Veja fans - how supportive are they? I’m prone to plantar fasciitis so struggle with really “flat” trainers. I love the look of vejas Smile

I find them pretty flat and they took some getting used to as were uncomfortable at first, they’re fine now though not the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever had…the leather on top keeps peeling and the laces have worn down too! Not happened to any other shoes..

Yeah, although I have always found them so comfy from the 1st wear. I would say they are very flat and so not particularly supportive. I have never had any leather peeling or quality issues.

Fairfax & favor do some gorgeous white leather trainers called Alexandra. They are just releasing another version with animal print on (I know, not everyone’s cup of tea). I’ve not got any myself but they are on my list. Got great reviews.

I found the Veja really uncomfortable. I have wide feet so maybe that’s why. I have some Victoria while look similar but less chunky and are very comfy.

Other adidas models you can check if you fancy something more sporty: continental 80 & sambarose (Their sole is pretty thick which was great for holidays with a lot of sightseeing and walking).

Just bought a pair of Axel Arigato and totally in love (I’m 43). They’re expensive though, I’ve been resisting them for a year!
