Best hot cloth cleanser

harriethoyle · 07/03/2022 08:50

I want to go back to hot cloth cleansing, rather than using cotton wool pads and make up remover. Used to use Liz Earle but am trying to economise so any good dupes would be very welcome! I have fairly clear combination skin with a slightly oily T zone.

Thanks!

Buy Liz Earle snd use it less often? I find it the best and I use it sparingly. Theres always cheap and cheerfully but why ditch what you like?

QuizzicalEyebrows · 07/03/2022 09:20

I love Boots No 7 melting cleanser. I also love Cliniques take the day off. I didn't like Liz Earle's cleanse and polish, took ages to rub off

QuizzicalEyebrows · 07/03/2022 09:22

Lots of people like the Superdrug dupe. I didn't because it's too much like the original. Body shops camomile balm cleanser is also popular as a dupe

UnconditionalSurrender · 07/03/2022 09:28

I have the Aldi one and its great. I've started using Japanfusion cleanser from Beauty Pie and that is a v good cleanser- if you know anyone with a Beauty Pie membership

hulahoopqueen · 07/03/2022 09:28

I really enjoy using the Versed cleansing balm - I find it leaves my skin feeling fresh and moisturised but definitely still clean, no residue.

MavisMonkey · 07/03/2022 09:29

I haven't tried it but the Aldi dupe is £3.49 and supposed to be really good. Lots of the 500+ 5star reviews comment that it's as good / a close second to Liz Earle.

Also you can use pretty much any cleanser with muslins / microfibre cloths to "boost" them. I use this good value oil cleanser that I found on Amazon with a microfibre cloth.

Super Facialist Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil, 200ml https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00KZYWQLM/ref=cmswwrcppapiglttiV2C73YXK19224DCH58QH??encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks everyone. I've got an aldi local to my home so I'll give that a go at 3.49 and see how I get on with it...

The Aldi dupe is excellent but I find CeraVe cleanser far superior to LE.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 07/03/2022 10:13

Caroline Hirons rates the Body Shop camomile.

Skinnytailedsquirrel · 07/03/2022 10:14

I liked Liz Earle but after I tried L'Oreal www.superdrug.com/Skin/Face-Skin-Care/Cleansers/Cleansing-Milks/L%27Oreal-Paris-Age-Perfect-Cleansing-Milk-200ml/p/804781 for £2.50 I can't go back!

It's fab. I got my first bottle from Amazon but I see Superdrug are selling it now. This product has been on the go for years.

Divebar2021 · 07/03/2022 10:16

I have the Aldi version ( I bought 2 and they’ve lasted a long time). I think it’s pretty good…. I don’t think it’s quite a nice as LE but for the price difference definitely worth it. I have to work a bit harder to get eye makeup off though with the Aldi version.

WaterTheBasil · 07/03/2022 10:17

I like this one from boots.

The Aldi one is actually really good & there are several versions. The rose one is particularly nice.
Sometimes they have a box with four different ones in smaller tubes, handy to find your favourite or for travelling.

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 07/03/2022 17:28

I use the Superdrug one.

EverybodysALebowski · 07/03/2022 17:41

Love the Superfacialist Vitamin C oil and it lasts forever.

ItMustBeBedtimeSurely · 07/03/2022 18:01

Body shop camomile cleansing butter. It’s not a dupe of Liz Earle, it’s totally different and much better imo - gets all makeup off in seconds and leaves my face happy. I also like the ordinary squalane cleanser although it’s a bit boring. Body shop is nicer to use.

Imabitbusyatthemoment · 07/03/2022 18:03

I started using the soap and glory one after seeing a Hirons review. I think I prefer it to Liz Earle, which seemed a bit too menthol-y when I tried it again after.

VitalsStable · 07/03/2022 18:30

Emma Hardies is amazing but £, beauty pies one is rather good too.

I agree with this. Nothing matches Liz Earle. Do you use the toner and moisturiser too?
Skinnytailedsquirrel · 07/03/2022 23:59

Serious question. How can you say "Nothing matches Liz Earle".

My skin feels and looks exactly the same from when I used to buy Liz Earle to now when I am buying L'Oreal for a fraction of the price. I can afford to buy Liz Earle very easily but I just can't see the point. There's not difference apart from nicer packaging.

Luredbyapomegranate · 08/03/2022 00:06

Super drug Vitamin E

constantindigestion · 08/03/2022 00:09

I'm a big Liz Earle fan and my sister bought me the Lacura hot cloth cleanser and it's just the same.

Benvolio · 08/03/2022 00:14

www.beautybay.com/p/beauty-bay/butter-cup-cleansing-balm-with-oat-lipid-and-chamomile/ this one is good. Smells quite eucalyptusy but I like that.

lugeforlife · 08/03/2022 05:21

Liz Earle makes me come out in big red welts! I liked BodyShop but tend to revert to Cerave and a flannel tbh.

Dd has started to use the Aldi version. She is only 12 but prone to spots in her hairline/t zone. A week in and there is a visible improvement although that may be as much down to consistency as anything else.

LoopyGremlin · 08/03/2022 05:30

LE does not agree with me at all, nor does the Superdrug one, but Aldi one is fine and good value so that gets my vote.
