pic in profile - Should i get a fringe?

MAMAZONtopofKILTbeingrude · 03/01/2008 00:37

can't believe im starting a thread in style and beauty since i have neither but im getting very bored with my hair.

its very long and dark and straight.
i really llike the current trend of having a fringe, probably not the ultra trendy block fringes as lets face i would look like a twunt as im too old. BUT what about maybe a softer one?

i have asked RL friends and they are divided so i am asking the ever so honest Mn style guru's.

what do you think? oh and i know the pic is a bad one but you get the idea

ahhh its cos i added that bit to my name.

does it work now?

TellusMater · 03/01/2008 00:41

I think no. Your hair is lovely.

Scramble · 03/01/2008 00:41

Oh I have similar hair, not as dark and I am wondering about a fringe, to cover my newly wrinkled forhead.

MAMAZON · 03/01/2008 00:43

see thats what i was thinking, if im having a bad day i can hide behind a fringe.

wouldnt need to stress about wrinkles or the odd spot lol

brimfull · 03/01/2008 00:43

yes,as long as it's quite long.

have looked for a pic but could only find this

not really what I had in mind

MAMAZON · 03/01/2008 00:44

lol you stole that from my bad hair diary. i knew that bleaching was wrong but it was all the rage back then

brimfull · 03/01/2008 00:45

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 03/01/2008 00:47

Can't see you pic still! How is TellUs seeing it?!

janeite · 03/01/2008 00:48

A long side fringe would look lovely; but then, you look lovely anyway!!

brimfull · 03/01/2008 00:48

MAMAZON · 03/01/2008 00:49

the pics are at the bottom, you have to click where it says mamazons pics shiny.

MAMAZON · 03/01/2008 00:50

yeah ggirl thats waht i was thinking, softer and to the side.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 03/01/2008 00:51

Ah yes thanks GGirl.

Gawd another glamourous dark haired beauty! They was a poxy glutt of them at the meet up! What is it with you Mners? Do NONE of you look like mingers??! It's just not on!

No Mamazon, I forbid you to get a fringe or do anything, in case you look more gorgeous.. and that would be just greed, frankly!

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 03/01/2008 00:51
Grin
brimfull · 03/01/2008 00:52

go for it

it will really suit you

MAMAZON · 03/01/2008 00:55

Aww shiny i swear it is simply a flattering picture as i am a minger really.

if it helps i am sat here in a manky brown cardi and a bright red sore nose.
swollen eyes and tissue all around me.

glam i aint!

onehackedoffmuma · 03/01/2008 01:15

MAMAZON your hair is beautiful, really shiny!
I think you could get away with a fringe, I've just had quite a blunt one cut in and wasn't sure at first but I've gotten used to it.
New year new fringe!
xx

Pan · 03/01/2008 01:56

Nope. Toooo gorgeous for a fringe to partially hide your beautiful face. So there.

MAMAZON · 03/01/2008 12:35

aww Pan thats lovely, thank you

MaryAnnSingleton · 03/01/2008 12:37

no - you look fab without - really these new fringes as worn by Kate Moss and Tess Daly aren't a good idea

kindersurprise · 03/01/2008 12:40

No, your hair is lovely as it is and a fringe is a real bitch to grow out again.

I made the mistake last year and it is only now back to normal. It was always in my eyes, really annoying.

You could try one of the websites where you can upload a photo then try different hairstyles. I think ivillage do one.

kindersurprise · 03/01/2008 12:42

makeover here

I think your parting would make a fringe difficult to style. Plus your face shape suits no fringe.

If you're bored try some low lights or if against colouring why not just have some round the face layers?
