Has anyone tried any Jones Road products? If so, how do you rate them?

I’m liking the look of Miracle Balm in particular.

Following! I'd like to know too.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 18/01/2022 22:49

It's really plain looking isn't it? Almost like Boots 17 used to be.

Lookingoutside · 18/01/2022 23:36

I have the everything brush and the balms in dusky rose and sun kissed. I love them.

They’re really good. Very natural and ‘glowy’ looking and smell of essential oils. I use the pink one on my cheeks and lips and use the brown one like bronzer. Either looks good on my eyes.

Sort0f · 18/01/2022 23:44

That’s interesting @Lookingoutside

I saw a TikTok of Bobbi using the balms and I must say I liked the idea of it being skincare with colour as I tend to like things like multi sticks anyway.

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor The packaging and way the website was set up reminded me a lot of Glossier. I haven’t used no17 in ages, it was navy packaging way back then I think.

That was No7 iirc, 17 was much plainer. Or I'm getting it confused with another old discontinued Boots brand.

Sort0f · 19/01/2022 20:03

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor I used to use no17 liquid liner. It was definitely navy packaging for a bit. It was also black for a while. I’ve never really used no7 (although I use a serum of their’s now). This is 20-0 years ago though!

Oh well, my point is,it looks a bit too basic for the price tag imo.

Illegally18 · 20/01/2022 00:25

what stores do you find it in? I went to Peter Jones and House of Fraser and neither of them had Jones Road.

Sort0f · 20/01/2022 02:29

Ah , I see @MrsPelligrinoPetrichor. I’m no they worried about the packaging as long as the product is effective!

The packaging looks quite modern and minimal to me in any case. Prefer that to glitz/ostentation.

@Illegally18 I’ve only seen it online.

Love the Miracle Balm

So..... you want them to put it in fancy packaging and charge an arm and leg? Hmm surely it's the product that matters?
LeQuern · 20/01/2022 07:42

I love the idea behind the products - simple, multi use, low key beauty. Definitely going to buy the Miracle Balm and possibly the Hippy Stick. Love the pared down design and packaging too.

No,if they're going to use such basic packaging I feel of should be reflected in the price. The mark up on make up is huge.

Lookingoutside · 20/01/2022 09:42

The make up is packed with skin care ingredients and you get a lot of product for your money. I think they’re going for a fresh, pared down look with the packaging. Maybe it’s just not the right brand for you? The mark up is huge but the product is genuinely high quality.

Dior and YSL packaging isn’t basic. There’s Chanel too and loads of others which look beautiful but the product inside isn’t a patch on the likes of Jones Road because they’re primarily fashion houses. Clothes, shoes and bags are what they do and those items sell for thousands and thousands of pounds.

Most people can’t afford to participate in that so make up, skincare and perfume is their bread and butter money. The compacts are weighted in order to ‘feel’ luxurious in your hand and there’s a whole team of people who sit and discuss whether the click (as you close the compact) is satisfying enough.

I was put off by Bobbi Brown's Instagram page. Use my products so you don't look shit or something along those lines.

The reviews I've read haven't been that great.

Mercurial123 · 20/01/2022 10:14

This is an interesting read

WhatScratch · 20/01/2022 10:25

It reminds me of Glossier too.

Mercurial123 · 20/01/2022 11:44

I read a review that it was a copy of Glossier for old(er) people.

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 20/01/2022 11:50

I love Bobbi Brown but this range looks so meh. And the cheap looking packaging when the products themselves aren't cheap.

I'll stick to Glossier for this kind of thing.

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 20/01/2022 11:51

And they market themselves as 'clean'. That always makes me roll my eyes.

GezFox · 20/01/2022 13:01

What happens of the products / colours don't work on you? I think the miracle balm looks great but i would like to try before I buy !

Mercurial123 · 20/01/2022 16:51

I tried to find this review earlier. Personally I wouldn't buy the balm

I’m waiting for my Miracle Balm to turn up - unfortunately you can’t yet buy in the UK- only via the US site - although you are charged in £, but it’s a whopping £8.50 for postage as coming from US

The code for 10% off as a newbie is JRB10 so I used them and it brought us down a little bit, and basically I told myself that the postage was just under a fiver - but yes the postage really ramps the cost up.

It is however free postage to U.K. if you spend over £75 - but please be aware that if you spend over £135 that you’ll be stung for duties at customs
