Tear trough filler

christingle2 · 13/01/2022 17:06

Anyone else had this?

I had tear trough filler a few days ago and the difference is immense. I have shit genetics which left me with very hollow under eyes since birth, so the filler has really made a change to my face without looking overdone!

Just wondering how long it has lasted for others and what, if any, complications you had?

I had mine done at the end of July last year. Mine sound similar to yours, I'd had dark hollows under my eyes since childhood. They still seem to be going strong nearly six months on and no issues at all.

I'm absolutely chuffed to bits with them Grin

Milomonster · 14/01/2022 08:41

Please could I ask who you used? I’m considering it.

Hanswurst · 14/01/2022 08:48

Oh my god I need to know more about this!!
I have dark undereye circles since birth, definitely inherited from both parents… would this procedure help? And could I kindly ask you to share how much it cost you?

AgathaX · 14/01/2022 09:08

I've been having this done for years. It lasts around 12 months, sometimes more. No issues or complications in all that time. It makes such a huge difference though.

Lieby · 14/01/2022 12:03

I had it done 3 years ago and it still looks great! When I see old pics pre treatment I can’t quite believe the difference. I used Dr Ellie Sateei. She’s excellent. It’s around £600, but seems to last so long!

Mojitosaplenty · 14/01/2022 12:23

I would love to have this, but really concerned about side effects. Can't it be quite dangerous?

NancyTriangle · 14/01/2022 12:37

I used someone medically trained, an nhs anaesthetist, who also does private cosmetic treatments. As a procedure so close to the eye and needing such care I wanted that reassurance that I was using someone with the right skills and training.

I think I paid about 400. If it lasts a year I think that's excellent value for money. It takes years off me and I no longer have to wear my glasses to hide my black eyes!!

I'm in South Wales if anyone is close by and wants the Dr's details.

Rosiepeta · 14/01/2022 15:05

I'd love some details please, I'm also in South Wales. Love the idea of trying it but very nervous!

Hi, I’m interested in this. Does anyone know anyone in Cheshire who does it?
coffeeschmoffee · 14/01/2022 15:45

Oh that sounds great OP! Gosh I'm so keen to get this done. Have had a deep groove there all my life too. If anyone has any London recommendations that'd be great.

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 14/01/2022 15:50

Always check the person doing the work is not only a medical professional but also registered. There are two voluntary cosmetic registers in the UK - Save Face and JCCP. They only take registrations from regulated professionals e.g. doctors, nurses, dentists etc.

Just because someone is medically trained doesn't mean they are trained to inject into your face, it's a specialism.

Lieby · 14/01/2022 16:02

Dr Ellie that I mentioned above is in London and highly recommended.

feemcgee · 14/01/2022 16:31

Was there any bruising afterwards, and if so, how long did it last?

AgathaX · 14/01/2022 16:39

Once I had some very minimal bruising that was easily covered with make up, generally none though.

christingle2 · 17/01/2022 01:27

Posted pics if anyone is interested Smile

First pic is maximum makeup in an attempt to cover them (looked worse without makeup). Constant comments like “you look tired” etc.

2nd pic is the day I posted this thread. Was thrilled. 3rd pic is how they have settled a week later - I am wearing the same amount of makeup but as you can see my under eyes are more recessed and have a bit of a shadow. Still really happy with the difference though

Oops, 1st pic is before. Middle is a few days after and bottom is a week after. I know there’s a lighting difference but would still say results are accurate

Thanks for all the replies. I had my treatment with a dr in West Midlands. Happy to share details via PM

My treatment in total will cost around £700 I think (I paid £350 for 1ml for 1st session). I am having it done in 2 sessions because my under eyes were v recessed so dr said I would benefit from an optional 2nd session. I am hoping the 2nd treatment will give me results like the middle pic above Smile

Not 100% sure if I will do the 2nd session yet, will see how my face looks once I’m fully healed.

I had 1 bruise where the injection site was on one side, a round bruise a mm or so in diameter. Covered up with makeup well though.

Here’s a better pic of what it currently looks like. It’s not as perfect as it was a few days after treatment and you can kind of see the crease…but still so much better than before.

@christingle2 Wow !! That’s v impressive and looks natural. Can you feel it? I have deep set eyes and this has convinced me. Where did you get it done?

AtillatheHun · 17/01/2022 07:38

Holy cow that’s phenomenal!

Milomonster · 17/01/2022 09:39

Do you still think you need the second one?

Anewdress · 17/01/2022 16:30

For those of you who had tear trough filler, do you know what filler was used and also,.did it affect your lines when smiling?

I had tear trough filler 15 months ago for dark circles. It was fantastic for the dark circles and immensely improved them. However, I noticed when I smiled, the fier buldged and exacerbated my smile lines. I was actually glad when it wore off, however the dark circles are back and I'm considering getting it done again. I know the doctor used a filler that is usually considered too thick for under eyes. So I'm wondering if it's worth trying again with a finer filler, or not worth the risk.

Anewdress · 17/01/2022 16:31

*the filler buldged

Wagsandclaws · 17/01/2022 18:51

I have filler in my cheeks and also have rear trough fillers.

I'm nearly 50 and lost a lot of weight so needed a bit of scaffolding as I lost the fat in my face.

The difference is amazing the only downside is that I can't wear mascara on my bottom lashes as they come off under my eye where it is raised.

I use a properly qualified dr for all of my face ( Botox and fillers ) as someone said upthread you need a practitioner that has studied the face and knows what goes where.

Your results look amazing op I bet you are very pleased!

Wagsandclaws · 17/01/2022 18:55

Here's my before and after - no makeup on in the second and my skin is a bit red as I'd just had Botox too but you can see the difference I think.

The pics of results are amazing!

I do want tear trough fillers but I'm a massive baby when it comes to my eyes, and a bit with needles. Eyes and needles together makes me feel funny. I'm going to need to work up to it. Eek!
