Eternity ring like this one?

We're coming up for our silver wedding anniversary and DH would like to buy me an eternity ring. We've toyed with the idea before and never seen anything that either of us liked very much, but just for a laugh, I fired up the Garrard's page and this was the first thing I saw and we both loved it (but not the price).

Can anyone find me something similar but cheaper? I would like diamonds as it would go with my dressy necklace (solitaire diamond).

Weird about the lack of carats on the Garda ring, I agree. I did email them to find out but no proper reply yet.

Thanks for all the lovely suggestions. I do think the different shapes in the Garrard ring is what makes it stand out to me, and most other bubble rings (thanks for the search term!) don't appeal as much.

I like Sheila Fleet but not quite as much as the Garrard ring. Though the pale pastel sapphire rings are lovely, but not for this eternity ring.

I did get a wow moment from the Emily Nixon rings - will dig into those more. Thanks Silverhairedcat!

Someone mentioned a full eternity ring being uncomfortable- I'd never thought of that. I do want to wear it reasonably often as I don't like my engagement ring that much.

Only thing I’d point out with the Garrards one - if you were thinking of wearing it next to a wedding band or engagement ring it won’t sit flush because of the shape. That may also make it feel uncomfortable, with gaps between the two rings.

If you’re just wearing it as a stand-alone ring then it will of course be fine!

[quote SilverHairedCat]Ooh, just thought of another - Emily Nixon. She makes the most beautiful rings, can't believe I didn't think of her first!

I was going to recommend Emily as well. Beautiful, one of a kind rings and excellent quality.

With that particular ring, imagine closing your hand into a fist or gripping anything whilst wearing it. I think it would dig into the fleshy part of your finger.

It’s the most first world problem ever, but yes - all around rings can be sore and also can damage your car door if you use that hand to close it… There is a huge amount of metal in that ring and for strength and durability you’d want platinum- the white gold ones linked to here would not be great for everyday wear.

NalPolishRemover · 07/01/2022 08:59

White gold rings are very durable! My wedding ring is 18 carat unplated white gold set with 4 square diamonds evenly spaced around it so some some of them are always at the back of my hand.

My engagement ring is a mix of 18 carat unplated white & 18 carat yellow gold.

I have been wearing them 20 years this year & have never had a single issue with any aspect of them.

They are solid & well made by a highly reputable jeweller.

UserBot989 · 07/01/2022 09:03

Wow, that is beautiful. I was looking at a beautiful ring on boodles website that was £3k and that is still way way more than I have to spend. I have a ginger beer budget.

AtillatheHun · 07/01/2022 09:15

Gold is a much softer metal than platinum; it can’t be worked in the same way and have the same tensile strength in a delicate design like that as platinum would. The fact you say your rings are solid is what helps them - this eternity ring is not “solid” and the delicacy of the metalwork is what makes it so special. That delicacy needs to be in a tough metal or worn only occasionally. Platinum is a much denser metal and can therefore be used differently- it’s molecular structure not jeweller skill.

AtillatheHun · 07/01/2022 09:17

(Actually I’ve gone back and looked at the Garrard ring and the stones are all set deep in fully surrounding metal so it’s not in fact that delicate and it is made of white gold so I am very wrong on this ring!

You probably have a local jeweller who could make it for a fraction of the price. Ask on local FB groups.

Put your finger on your image and click search Google for image. This will find a number of similar images. Clicking images you like will find you even more images. Good luck!
