Any one had a breast reduction?

Touty · 22/12/2021 01:20

Are you happy with it? Does it feel better.
Do they grow back?

We're just giving this thread a bump for the OP in case anyone's around to answer her questions.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 23/12/2021 16:01

I had one in 2016 for severe back pain on the NHS. Went from a K cup to a D. It’s been the absolute best thing I’ve ever done.

30 years of severe debilitating back and neck pain gone. Clothes look much better and I’ve got tits like a 20 year old!

wineandchocolateforthewin · 23/12/2021 16:10

Yes when i was 21 from a HH to D cup, stayed a good size for a good while but then i gained weight and they are back to HH 😭
Would have another reduction tomorrow if i had the money, guess i need to work on losing weight though!
The relief on my back and neck was amazing

JanetandJohn500 · 23/12/2021 16:12

I did in 2016. I didn't have back pain before. They've got slightly bigger again but not as big as they were. I love them.
If you're in the NW, I recommend my surgeon.

fallfallfall · 23/12/2021 16:12

Yes 2+ years ago, I went private as I didn’t want to wait. Best thing ever. Not grown back but not gained massive weight either.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 23/12/2021 16:18

Mine didn’t grow back. I love my perky boobs.

QuestionableMouse · 23/12/2021 16:21

I keep casually looking into it. My boobs are genuinely enormous and I think I'd feel so much better if they weren't. (I last measured at a 38L for context!)

TipseyTorvey · 23/12/2021 16:38

I would absolutely love one. Spent much of my life as a size 8 to 10 with 34F which I hated, but pregnancies and lockdown has got me to a 38G. I no longer have boobs, I have a matronly bosom shelf which looks terrible in everything and gets in the way all the time.

fallfallfall · 23/12/2021 18:48

No real discomfort, I could easily come up with excuses; neck and shoulder strain, affecting my sleep (needing to scoop them out of my armpits), affecting exercise options etc. love the way clothing fits and love being to exercise without them flopping about. Years of money wasted on expensive uncomfortable bras! Now braless 90% of the time, bliss.

HariboBrenshnio · 23/12/2021 18:51

I am currently recovering from one that I had on the 7th of December.

I already know that is the best I'll ever do, it was a big reduction and the surgeon took 9lbs off my chest. If you're north, I absolutely recommend Miss Orla Austin - she's a magician!

Recovery is harder than I anticipated but I had some excess breast tissue removed from under my armpits which is giving me the most bother. I just need to be a bit slower and rest more. The first week you really shouldn't do much at all.

Happy to answer any questions! I don't know yet if they grow back but with the amount removed I'd be surprised.

HariboBrenshnio · 23/12/2021 18:59

If you have Facebook, join Breast Reductions U.K. A wealth of knowledge and experience there.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 23/12/2021 20:04

I lost 6 lbs when mine were removed. Nearly 1/2 stone!

Yes not wearing bras is heaven. And the delight of buying a bra for 15 quid instead of 50.

Westerman · 23/12/2021 20:13

I had mine reduced ~30 years ago and they grew back within a few years. I had put a little weight on, but they didn't shrink again when I lost a lot of weight either. I'm used to them now; I quite like them at times, but hate them at other times.
I'm stuck with them so best to just accept them and find good bras.
They were never small enough to go bra-less outside of the house.
I used to recommend the operation but now I'd only say go ahead if it's to help ease disabling pain or you're massively out of proportion.

IamGusFring · 23/12/2021 21:41

I had a reduction 25 years ago and they are still almost as perky as the day they were done . After children I had very droopy size J and went to a 34D. Obviously if you gain or lose weight the size will go up and down too . Best thing I ever did . Any doctor who has seen them has said " what a great job". Surgeon was this guy . www.themcindoecentre.co.uk/specialists/consultants/nicholas-parkhouse/

Notwithittoday · 23/12/2021 21:44

Yes, didn’t grow back really even with pregnancy

Crazydogmumma · 23/12/2021 21:47

I had mine 6 years ago- went from a JJ cup to a E/F- they are still perky- my only regret is not doing it sooner! If you can afford it I would recommend it.

Jacaranda75 · 23/12/2021 21:47

OK, I used to have a job where I saw lots of women naked. Including several celebrities. I definitely saw MORE reductions than augmentations. The only thing I would say is the scarring is quite bad. But I have never met anyone who said they regretted it.

cabsavpls · 23/12/2021 21:59

Did anyone have the reduction but then have implants to get the perkiness and shape? Or was it a straight reduction?

WhatMattersMost · 23/12/2021 22:58

In about 1992, I went from a 34J to a 34A. I lost sensitivity in the lower part of my breasts for about 15 years, but I have nearly full sensitivity now. But the change in terms of lived experience is immeasurable. I'd do it again in a shot.

A couple of things if you do go ahead: Arnica tablets, and don't be a martyr when it comes to pain relief.

WhatMattersMost · 23/12/2021 22:59

No implants. My surgeon said I'd remain perky way past my non-surgery peers, and he was correct.
Notwithittoday · 23/12/2021 23:22

Yes I had implants afterwards. Regret the implants massively. Mine have since been recalled because of a link to lymphoma ( they’re only 5 years old). What they don’t tell you is that once you have implants you can’t really remove them completely

RampantIvy · 23/12/2021 23:32

Do they grow back?

Yes, they can do. One of my friends had a reduction about 12 years ago, and she is almost back to the size she was before. She hasn't put on weight.

A reduction will involve an uplift .
Anordinarymum · 24/12/2021 01:30

I would like one. I sometimes wear sports bras if my chest is going to be on show as in wearing a dress or top that is fitted and that helps to flatten the outline.

IamGusFring · 24/12/2021 01:33

I lived my whole life in sports bras before my breast reduction . I know where you are coming from .
