Is it any good? there's money off in Boots and I'm tempted.
One length long hair that needs some oomph!

Pros: Gives you Kate Middleton bounce and waves

Cons: This only happens the first two times you use it, then you'll notice it's not quite such a smooth finish, as your hair has been permanently frazzled.

MrsKDB · 05/12/2021 17:39

I looked at it and went for the air wrap instead. More expensive but also more versatile and uses lower heat so less damage.

AnyFucker · 05/12/2021 17:41

The Revlon One Step ?

Trust me, my hair is ravaged after post Covid/stress hair loss and this dryer makes my hair look lovely even with my crack handed styling skills

I have shoulder length hair and it hasn’t damaged it at all, mind you I mainly wash and leave and only blow dry once a week or fortnight

AnyFucker · 05/12/2021 17:42

*cack handed

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 05/12/2021 17:52

I'm not paying air wrap prices, I'm somewhat low maintenance generally speaking, at 54 my best days are behind me looks -wise.
As a fellow cack handed person I might give it a whirl then.

Buy some proper hair sectioners that stylists use.

This is the key, I find

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 05/12/2021 17:56

Oh god, now you're making it complicated Grin

Not at all 🤨

AnyFucker · 05/12/2021 18:00

There are some good videos on YouTube of how to use the One Step

PickAndChooseMe · 05/12/2021 18:15

I tried the Airwrap nearly every day for a month (thank you QVC) and wasn’t blown away. I love my Revlon one step. Sometimes if I’m lazy or don’t have much time I just do the front and top bits. I have thick, frizzy and wavy hair and the bounce and swishiness can last for about three days.

Aderyn21 · 05/12/2021 18:50

I like mine. It does take a few goes to get used to it though.

cherrypiepie · 05/12/2021 23:08

I have fine hair and use my revlon one step every day. It's awesome.

I use it with old fashioned mousse.

I do it in two sections. I clip the top part of my hair out the way with a claw clamp. Dry the underneath with out laying much attention (put the brush under the hair at the rootsand slowly pull through) . Then the top paying a bit more attention but not much.

It takes 10 mins and I watch you run on my phone whilst doing it: finding Something to watch can take longer than the drying.

ambereeree · 06/12/2021 11:33

I love mine. I was a bit hesitant to buy as my hair is very thick but the brush does a great job. I try and air dry my hair as much as possible before using to minimise damage.

bloatedorpregnant · 06/12/2021 12:44

I’ve got the Dyson Airwrap and do like it (although not sure it’s worth the £££) but I’ve asked for the Revlon One Step for Christmas. I think because it’s a bigger brush I’ll find it much easier to use.

BlancheSauvignon · 06/12/2021 12:46

Love mine.

I bought a cheaper one to start with (some foreign knock off) and found the wires became exposed at the base of the handle. I replaced with with the Revlon One Step and absolutely love it. Very easy to use, so much so that I've bought my mum one for Christmas!

MrsKDB · 06/12/2021 14:38

I don’t think the air wrap would be so good on very thick hair, it would take ages. mine takes ten minutes and I don’t need to use straighteners to smooth it out at all afterwards like I did with the babyliss big hair. It’s crazy pricy though, I know. Did instalments with QVC and was prepared to send back if it didn’t work for me.

ThreeWiseBuddhas · 06/12/2021 14:41

I used mine all the time until I got a drastic pixie cut, growing it now so need to unpack mine
My hair always looked great and this is from someone who's so cackhanded she burnt her ear several times with a pair of mini GHD'S Hmm

hetty74 · 06/12/2021 14:58

I was impressed with mine until it burnt out after a year . Decided to give it another go as daughter wanted one , it lasted one use 😱
Now on the lookout for something similar at a reasonable price …

VanGoghsDog · 06/12/2021 14:58

I have this which is a similar concept, really helps and I now find the faff of having to use a hairdryer and brush way too annoying!

Lndnmummy · 06/12/2021 15:06

I am going to finally take the plunge, which one are you all using? There are a few models?

AnyFucker · 06/12/2021 17:53

Link didn’t work, sorry

Google Revlon One Step dryer

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 06/12/2021 18:04

I have thick hair with a natural kink but that straightens and blow dries bouncy and smooth.

The Babylis Big Hair reduced it to a dried out, frizzy and broken mess

I much prefer a Parlux hairdryer, a round brush and very quick smooth with the hot irons.

Practicebeingpatient · 06/12/2021 21:10

I have the Airwrap and the one step. I much prefer the one step.

bendmeoverbackwards · 06/12/2021 21:55

Is the Revlon one better than the Babyliss big curls?
