Necklace to make me look 'with it' (remote interview)

Cringing as I write the phrase 'with it'. But I need help!

I have a remote job interview coming up and it's in an industry where I'm going to be quite a bit older than a lot of my colleagues.

I'm a bit worried about ageism / unconscious bias in the interviewers. (I'm in my mid 40s.)

Seeing as all they'll see is my top half, can anyone help with nice necklace ideas to make me look a bit less ancient?

I guess something a bit kind of 'edgy', but one that I can pull off? (Confidence is low and not feeling like I can pull off anything at the moment...)

I've got a million other things to worry about, like swotting up on the job itself and the presentation, but any extra thing to make me feel a bit more confident would help.

I'd say that a plain navy top is not going to do you justice. A jewel toned top (and good lighting, buy a ring light if you don't have one already) with a suitable for Zoom neckline is going to look waay better on camera. In my non work life I don't do pink, but I know that it is by far the best for me virtually so wear hot pink for anything important. IMO much as I love layered necklaces, they are too fussy on camera and will get lost

Hmm thanks @CMOTDibbler you've got me rethinking the navy top.

And off to google a ring light too .

Yes, lighting is by far the most important element. When all you can see is a murky view of the person it’s awful. And lift your camera to eye level (just stack on books) so they aren’t looking up your nose. You can buy a ring light relatively cheaply from Amazon with next day delivery. And avoid any jewellery that tinkles. Nice top in a colour that suits you (possibly brighter than navy). Good luck!

Thank you @ilovecherries!

I think they will see so little detail it's not worth buying something simple. Just focus on making sure you have the right lighting so you don't look like a ghost, tidy hair and headphones if needed.

What about Tatty Devine? Their stuff can be a bit ‘out there’ (embracing my inner granny here too!) but maybe something like this www.tattydevine.com/products/swallow-necklace

Agree about lighting and a nice looking background rather than a necklace.
However I would say earrings are a must as they brighten up your face and are very visible on video. Nothing distracting though - some plain but bright studs.

Off camera I agree about layering necklaces. I love that look.

I’m about your age OP and also work in a company of younger people but the age range is about early 30s to early 50s so I don’t feel too out of place.

I would concentrate on making sure your backdrop looks good. Set up next to a window for natural light, a ring light is unnecessary.

I bought this from Oliver Bonas today, think it fits the bill? www.oliverbonas.com/jewellery/lola-organic-bead-drop-faux-pearl-charm-pendant-necklace-334851
