I have used Body shop shea butter body butter for years with good results, they have now changed formula and it is awful. I am stuck at the moment with Aveeno for very dry skin,but it is only ok. No price restrictions, just recommendations for a really good cream for sensitive skin.
Thanks

@Geamhradh

The best body moisturizer ever is Neutrogena Norwegian formula. It's light and sinks in immediately and hydrates for days. But it's not luxurious. I think tbh, if you want to properly hydrate, you want Aveeno, Neutrogena, etc All the beautifully fragranced luxury ones just aren't going to do the same. L'Occitane Shea range is good though.
I use that brand's hand cream on my whole body. The best thing for very dry skin is cream made for the hands or 'rough' parts of the body like feet and elbows. It will feel greasy and not absorb as easily, but is what works if you have very dry skin on your body.

I use Cetaphil on legs and body and aveeno on hands (massive eczema sufferer)

I use a nivea one for dry to very dry 48 hour moisture. I think it might be one with Q10 but I'm away from home and can't check. I used it every day on my overly dry skin and they're no longer drier than the rest of my skin and 48 hours works.

Neutrogena lotions are 1/3 off at the moment at Boots. I've never tried before so don't know how I'd rate them yet but agree they smell lovely. White tub/bottle, blue lid.

Another vote for cerave in the tub. I have been won over from aveeno

L'Occitaine almond oil body oil.
Tropics do a good body oil but MN disprove of MLM.

You can buy your own shea butter very cheaply:

Works well as a moisturiser.

O'keefes is the bees knees. Sort of leaves a film, which sounds gross but I have the driest most eczema prone skin on the planet, and it's ace (and smells more neutral than all the niveas and avenos), lipikar by la roche posay is almost extremely good but pretty pricey.

wiltonian · 14/11/2021 21:27

Kiehls Creme de Corps. Stupidly expensive but it’s the only thing which gets rid of my dry bumpy skin. Well, the only cream.

The other thing which makes a difference is a Korean washcloth which was recommended on here and was dirt cheap on Amazon.

you might need to reapply something like aveeno manyseveral times a day until your skin recovers, that's what dermatologist had me do, I cook inside the paraffin ones which leave a film and then that makes me scratch
