Tinted moisturiser or foundation?

LaCerbiatta · 13/12/2007 11:19

My brother works at the airport and gets up to 40% discount off creams, perfumes, etc and asked me to choose something for my birthday and christmas. I never wear foundation but, not being 20 anymore, I feel like I could really benefit from starting to wear something. My skin is not bad at all, so I don't need much, just to even it out a bit.

Should I get a foundation (has to be very light) or a tinted moisturiser? I was thinking about an estee lauder tinted moisturiser I've seen recommended here (links would be great, please!).

Other suggestions would be very welcome!

i love benefit you rebel
and the dandelion powder

LaCerbiatta · 13/12/2007 11:22

Is this the Estee Lauder tinted moisturiser?

Touche Eclat doesn't agree with me much unfortunately, I think my skin is too olive / yellowish....

clarins blonde tinted moisturiser is good

nailpolish · 13/12/2007 11:23

dior skinflash is nice if you dont like touche eclat

LaCerbiatta · 13/12/2007 11:25

I don't think there's Benefit there, unfortunately...

Unlike everyone else, I don't find Clarins amazing. I'm wearing a Clarins moisturiser now, it's ok but not great. I would like to try Estee Lauder or Lancome now

id try estee lauder first before lancome any day

LaCerbiatta · 13/12/2007 11:34

Hmm Dior skinflash would be an option... Maybe I should go try it on first.

Any other ideas?

You don't llike Lancome? An reason?
I bought a travel set at the airport once, just basic cleanser, tonic and moisturiser and I thought it was amazing, my skin was really soft... Then again had a Venefit (??) moisturiser once that was pretty average....

ive never used lancome skincare, admittedly, but i dont like their make up
mascara dries out after a week or so, eyeshadows are dull and bland...

The Times has a best of list yesterday and Bobbi Brown won the tinted moisuriser

Eve Lom cleanser is FAB

HOWEVER

this was pre kids

now I do not have to time/energy to faff for 15 mins at night massaging and pressing my face

Tesco wipes it is then

OComeOLIVEfaithfOIL · 13/12/2007 11:46

you can get a tester set from SpaceNK iirc, with a pot of about 5 different Eve Lom things

will have a search (it was about 1765 when I used it)

nailpolish · 13/12/2007 11:48

yes

its £48

which i cannot justify when Dove soap will do

hate those wipe thingys

LaCerbiatta · 13/12/2007 11:48

Hey, what's this, hyjacking my thread!!

Eve lom is not an option, unfortunately I don't think Bobbi Brown or MAC are either....

I use Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser and put powder over at night-time which seems to do the trick (or I may be fooling myself).
