Just for a bit of fun.

If every beauty store was closing down and you could only stock up on three items, what would be your holy grails you cant live without?

Mine

  1. Erborian CC cream
  2. A thick moisturiser like Cerave, Nivea or LRP
  3. Any SPF with a strong smell - I absolutely love the scents

What's all the rage with Cetaphil and Cerave? I have to report on these for work purposes and struggle to give a good explanation on why they're doing so well. They're like liquid gold for customers!
I use cerave. I like it because it's a very good price, is perfume free, comes in a big pump bottle, is easily available, can be used by the whole family and does its job really well. What's not to like?
laurenGame · 09/11/2021 21:46

Interesting answers, I get that it is a great product, I just haven't seen moisturiser (both cetaphil and cerave) products to do so well and to dominate skincare category so much Smile

GoodnightGrandma · 09/11/2021 21:54

Dove Shea butter soap
Liz Earle Superskin moisturiser
Frizz Ease conditioner

RedHot22 · 10/11/2021 11:33
  1. Clinique super city block
  2. Lash Serum
  3. Bepanthan
doadeer · 10/11/2021 16:39

@RedHot22 which lash serum do you use? Mine are rubbish

RedHot22 · 10/11/2021 16:53

Nanolash. You need to use it every evening for at least 2 or 3 months though before you see results!

I think it's partly because until recently they're brands that weren't available in the UK, so developed this cult reputation. A bit like Maybelline Great Lash in the 90s when you could only get that in the US.
babyinthacorner1 · 10/11/2021 22:59

@labazslovesliving wait… hand cream that gets rid of age spots??? I NEED!

stayathomer · 11/11/2021 05:35

I have roseacea and dry/sensitive/stingy skin and they have calmed my skin down and are almost like a spa feeling for me. I was at my wits end with cleansers before I found cetaphil, and both are the main products that get me out of horrendous skin days/weeks and the only things that give me relief. Also avene skin recovery cream! Game changers/life changers for me

TheBugHouse · 12/11/2021 22:45

Ds finished roaccutane treatment at hospital and was advised that cerave is very good for healing and it is! He uses the AM moisturiser and the skin smoothing face wash. The wash is really nice ( I’ve not tried the moisturiser myself.

Tomasinabombadil · 13/11/2021 17:48
  1. Palmers Coco Butter with coconut oil body lotion
  2. L’Oreal shampoo & conditioner, the red pack (may I count as one please?)
  3. Nivea Q10 day moisturiser & matching eye cream ( again may I count as one please?) 😉
doadeer · 13/11/2021 17:49

A lot of love for Nivea Q10 day!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Micro-Peeling Face and Body Cleansing Gel
Trinny London BFF SPF
Soolantra cream but if I can still have that because its prescription I'd pick Dr.Jart Cicapai Tiger Grass Colour Correcting Treatment

notoldjustpastyoung · 13/11/2021 18:13

Large bottle of E45. Jar of l'oreal Age Perfect night cream. Jar of l'oreal pink tinged day cream.

SmudgeButt · 14/11/2021 17:24

I'm fine as long as I can brush my teeth. So some really freshening toothpaste please!

And I've got chronically chapped lips so Vaseline aloe vera - normally I get the little tins from primark for under £1.

If I absolutely had to buy a third item I would go for St Kitts Bergamot and Rosemary shower gel - if they still were around.

AColdDuncanGoodhew · 14/11/2021 18:08

Wow this is impossible! Okay um...

  1. Mitchum stick deodorant
  2. Dermalogica ultracalming cleanser
  3. Moisturiser...probably Embryollise lait creme concentre although I don't have it just now. Its one that I could use a light layer of in warmer weather and slather it on in colder weather

I used CeraVe hydrating cleanser for about 18 months and thought it was wonderful, but after a while my skin started to react to it and was super hot, bright red and blotchy. It sucks as it was so lovely for removing makeup, didn't sting, didn't strip my skin, didn't make my eyes all blurry.

I'm tempted to try it again but I'm worried about the reaction!

I use the CeraVe hyaluronic serum which is lovely too

Spodge · 14/11/2021 19:19

Elemis pro collagen cleansing balm (ideally the Rose scented one)
Elemis pro collagen marine cream
Color Wow Pop & Lock hair glossing serum

Barney60 · 14/11/2021 21:47

Anything without lanolin, am allergic.
Nothing with Urea, which comes from urine, yuk! Am sure its probably re created nowadays in labs but why just why would anyone even dream of it in the first place?

BitterestPill · 15/11/2021 22:43

Nuxe oil
Johnsons baby shampoo (I'm very delicate! Grin)
My Russian lashes topped up every couple of weeks

JoanDarc · 15/11/2021 23:20

Japanfusion cleanser
Avene rich skin recovery cream, the best moisturiser for sensitive dehydrated skin
Eucerin Aquaphor balm, for dry lips, patches on skin, kids have a scrape - Aquaphor it! It’s my go to skin saviour after it saw me through roaccutane many years ago.

NeedWineNow · 16/11/2021 13:41

On the basis that the supermarkets stayed open I'd be ok for Aldi Rejuvelate Day and Night creams (amazing), Herbal Essences Shampoo and Conditioner and Garnier Body Lotion and make up (so long as it was L'oreal or Max Factor)

But I would buy a shedload of:

Le Petit Marseillais Aloe Vera and Almond Blossom Shower cream
Clinique All about Eyes Eye cream
Clinique Take the Day off Cleansing balm
