Having a few foot issues which means I'm struggling with footwear. Strangely enough the only shoes that are really comfy are sketcher go walk slip ons. The trainer style don't work for me. I know looks aren't everything but I would love something different for a change. Things I've tried that don't work are Fitflops, Vionic and new balance. I think I need the memory foam footed, if anyone has seen anything similar but different I woukd appreciate it.

Allbirds - merino in winter, eucalyptus in summer.
Washable and very comfortable!

slipperyeel · 27/10/2021 19:40

I just got some all birds and they are extremely comfortable- not sure how stylish they are but I don’t really care

Geek chic! They are very popular in New Zealand.
slug · 27/10/2021 20:38

I find Allbirds very thin in the sole

BornInAThunderstorm · 27/10/2021 20:40

I always use Asics with gel soles, they are pricey but very worth it.

MauveMavis · 27/10/2021 20:42

I was just coming on to say Allbirds.

I have several pairs.

The mizzle (waterproof) ones come up small. Wish I'd known this as I'd have sized up.

Snowdropsandbluebells · 27/10/2021 20:45

I love sketchers but I also like the marks and Spencer wide fit boots - bought two pairs today. They are comfy ! Very smart

Imtoooldforallthis · 27/10/2021 21:31

I'm not feeling the Allbirds, any other suggestions?

What's actually the issue with your feet? And what are you looking for - shoes/boots/trainers? Fitflop usually seem to have a style that will help but you say they don't. I find adidas ultraboost super comfortable but they are v trainer-y and I have PF/Achilles issues. There are various fitflop styles I like but some are so awful - same as sketchers. Luckily my PF has calmed down a bit at the moment so I'm experimenting with 'normal' shoes!

Imtoooldforallthis · 28/10/2021 06:46

I have a a damaged crucient ligament (sp?) in one knee, a damaged tendon in the other heel and new orthotics for one leg being shorter than the other. Ive posted about this before, I've tried Fitflop sandals, boots and shoes and non where comfortable. I have new balance trainers and vionic trainers both of which are uncomfortable after an hour or so I may be that nothing will help. Slip on skechers are OK but don't look nice to go out in with jeans etc, and they make my feet swea, and I can't wear my orthotics with them, but the lace up skechers are not the same and make my feet hurt.

Heavenly feet? They have foam insoles.

Imtoooldforallthis · 28/10/2021 06:58

Thank you I'll have a look, any particular styly? And what is the sizing like?

Oh and I would like some lightweight walking boots which I've never been able to find.

If you are a serious walker and have foot issues, you need to have your boots properly fitted by experts, and potentially stretched to fit. If in the North, Whalley Warm and Dry are superb. Can't recommend them highly enough.

I understand the issue. I have exceptionally wide, big feet, made worse by arthritic changes to one foot. Fortunately I can manage with Skechers and Crocs, but stylish they ain't. Not so much an issue now I don't have to be smart for the office quite so frequently.

Imtoooldforallthis · 28/10/2021 07:36

I wouldn't say I'm a serious walker but an hours walk is more the norm. Crocs I can wear but obviously not good for a winters walk on the beach.

Shoe zone usually have a good selection of heavenly feet to try and see what works, but they're generally all the same on the inside, in terms of space for toes and foam insoles.

PantsandBoots · 28/10/2021 07:44

I find Clarks are very good for my delicate feet. The 'unstructured' and 'Rio' ranges are very comfortable and feel like Air Max's.

Footle · 28/10/2021 07:46

Wide Fit shoes have some nice walking boots - have a look.

Imtoooldforallthis · 28/10/2021 07:51

Thanks Everyone I'll have a look at those suggestions. Bras and shoes I go on a mission every so often to find the perfect ones. In between I clear out one ones that are uncomfortable, I dread to think of the money I've wasted.

Crocs are a crime against foot health.

I have a pair of Clarks "Sharon Noel" shoes. I have the "silver" suede ones which are the closest to white trainers I will ever get but they do other colours - make sure you get the "soft" ones.

When I tried them on I thought "ooh these feel like Skechers!", they're so comfortable (and the wide fitting is wider than most).

Hardybloodyhar · 28/10/2021 07:52

I have pf and wear Naots. Most styles come with a removable cork insole. I can walk all day in them.

maddy68 · 28/10/2021 07:53

Fly have rocker soles on some of their shoes and boots. They and sketchers are the only thing I can wear

I have these walking boots and can highly recommend them. They are like walking on air. They weigh barely anything. Less than 1kg

FlemCandango · 28/10/2021 07:59

These Doc's are my work shoes. Super comfy!

As comfy as skechers but slightly more stylish.
