Tell me how you’re removing your facial hair...

I’m mid-40s. Got a Lumea - not found it effective tbh. Few dark hairs sprouting from cheeks and neck. I’d like it all gone, never to return. Wouldn’t we all? What’s worked for you?

Wax pot, every weekend without fail I do my full face.

InPraiseOfLadyGrey · 26/10/2021 12:41

Tweezers, 3 whiskers and a bit of a moustache. I attack it all around once a week although it's obviously not a permanent method of removal. Quick and easy though.

hotmeatymilk · 26/10/2021 12:45

Tweezerman tweezers and one of those rolly springy things, like a Slinkee for your face. Brings tears to my eyes when I do my moustache but I’m like a hairless newborn raccoon afterwards.

emanresua · 26/10/2021 12:50

Wax and tweezers

WhatDidISayAlan · 26/10/2021 12:52

Electrolysis. I have a full-on PCOS ladybeard otherwise. Have been going for nearly 5 years. Was twice a week at first but now down to once every two months.

stealingbeauty · 26/10/2021 13:47

My facial hair is fluffy so I shave my lower face every week or so.

Bagelsandbrie · 26/10/2021 13:49

I know everyone will probably be horrified but I just shave it off with a Wilkinson’s women’s razor, dry so I don’t go too close and cut myself. Everything else just irritates my skin and makes it obvious I’ve tried to remove something.

Lottapianos · 26/10/2021 13:50

Tweezers for single dark hairs on chin and neck. I do a check in daylight at least once a week. I use facial wax strips to do my chin and whiskers about every other month

QuestionableMouse · 26/10/2021 13:50

A combination of eyebrow razors and tweezing.

QuestionableMouse · 26/10/2021 13:51

I have a Phillips IPL but I'm wary of using it on my face.

Lux523 · 26/10/2021 13:57

I dermaplane once a month.

No abnormal growth of hair afterwards and I'm light skinned with very dark hair.

You won't ever look back.

Roussette · 26/10/2021 13:57

Braun face epilator. Here This

I have always had a moustache. I went regularly and was waxed or threaded.

This has transformed my life!

I don't like those round shaving ones as that is just encouraging growth like shaving does, but this is fantastic. I use it probably once a month max.

p.s. Yes, it hurts, but it can be done in probably 2 minutes so I just grin and bear it!

BusterGonad · 26/10/2021 14:31

I also use the Veet trimmer. It's so easy. I used to get it waxed but I hate growing it. I used to bleech it but it made me sore and I ended up with ginger unwanted hair, worse than dark tbh. Hair removal cream never worked but burnt my skin off instead.

This for me too
GingerFigs · 26/10/2021 15:16

I have very fair soft hair but lots of it on my cheeks and top lip which stand on end when it's cold!! Also make-up clings to the hairs. I tried the slinky thing and I think I have too much hair as I was on for ages and it was making no difference. Veet irritates my skin and doesn't seem to take the hair off. I have a Lumea but scared to use on my face plus think my hair is too fair. So I shave. Every week. I know it's probably the worst thing to do but it works.

Reading some of the other methods with interest!!

Which one do you have?
StealthPolarBear · 26/10/2021 15:29

I need a link to the rollyspringy thing pls

sheeplikessleep · 26/10/2021 15:35

I go for laser treatment. Done 4 treatments now and going 6 - 8 weeks apart, but hair only just appears by the 6 weeks and should 🤞 reduce in time to a maintenance treatment every 6 months.

Supposedly the machine is more powerful than the DIY ones. Time will tell but I’m happy so far.

Used to wax / bleach in between and it felt like I was constantly waiting for it to get long enough to wax it. I like the fact the laser just really slows down hair growth so I don’t have that ‘in between’ stage.

Fiowill · 26/10/2021 15:36

Eyebrow razors

Teenagekicksmyass · 26/10/2021 15:50

I use the tweezerman rolly thing too: Tweezerman - Smooth Finish Facial Hair Remover www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00JVOU89E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_0ZSH0T8T6FM00ERN3V9N?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

AnotherName456 · 26/10/2021 15:57

Laser and shaving in between. Its made a massive difference.

Tweezing is actually what made my hair growth worse, it caused ingrown hairs and the hair came through a lot thicker.

alphasox · 26/10/2021 15:57

Just started having professional laser treatment (3 treatments so far) and I'm kicking myself for not going for it years ago.

Teaandcakeordeath83 · 26/10/2021 16:20

Anyone got any tips for removing wild nostril hairs? For some reason my nose has started to sprout thicker dark hairs that stick out of my nostrils. I tweeze when I'm brave enough but it really hurts. I promise I'm not nesh- I epilate usually 😂

NotMyCat · 26/10/2021 16:21

I dermaplane with a scalpel
