here

I want some moderately high heeled black boots that fit wide calves.

I want them for everyday so no higher than 2.5 inches.

do you know of any other nice ones?

no

ggirlsbells · 07/12/2007 19:32

part of me is thinking they are a bit old fashioned, but am clueless really

ggirlsbells · 07/12/2007 19:33

hahaha do ya wanna think about it

OP posts:
moondog · 07/12/2007 19:35

God they are awful.
The sort of thing that some over 50 woman who plays golf in Surrey would think was trendy.

CloudAtlas · 07/12/2007 19:36

they really aren't my thing. I am a terrible topshop fiend, but they have a good way of searching for boots, maybe get some ideas from here

CodRestYeMerryGentelmen · 07/12/2007 19:37

they are even worse

Maidamess · 07/12/2007 19:37

The stretch suede ones on the same page were much nicer imo.

ggirlsbells · 07/12/2007 19:37

ok i agree they are old lady boots

I like these here but they wouldn't fir my calves

aaargh

moondog · 07/12/2007 19:38

You are joking right???

TenLordsaLapin · 07/12/2007 19:38

Cod will hate these because they are pointy but this place specializes in wider calves

CloudAtlas · 07/12/2007 19:39

ooh, cod, you arbiter of good taste you, what would you suggest. I kind of meant the ones right at the end, not a big fan of the super shiney ruchy ones myself. either way none of these are my thing, Why don't you get ankle boots instead and then you don't have to worry about them fitting your calves

ggirlsbells · 07/12/2007 19:39

streetch suede look crap imo on fat calves

OP posts:
Maidamess · 07/12/2007 19:39

I was in Tesco's the other night and all the leather boots looked very big around the top. I have the opposite problem, having pipe cleaner calves, so everything seems to be for the bigger calved gal imo.

CloudAtlas · 07/12/2007 19:39

they're the ones I meant, ggirls.

ItWasOnlyAWintersTellus · 07/12/2007 19:40

Next do wide fitting boots. But I'm not sure if that applies to the calves or just the feet.

ggirlsbells · 07/12/2007 19:40

hahahaha moondog, obviously I have NO idea

tell me what's nice then

I give up

OP posts:
CloudAtlas · 07/12/2007 19:40

lapin, those are hooker boots

hatwoman · 07/12/2007 19:41

sorry but I don't like them either. I have a feeling, though I stand to be corrected, that it's the idea of the compromise low heel that just doesn't work. it shouts "want to be smart and comfy" - which is a nice idea but imho it doesn't relaly work. If you can't manage a decent heel for veryday wear you'd be better off with a flat boot or a big wide heel eg florence, cyprus, granada and loads of others here

hatwoman · 07/12/2007 19:42

the ones I linked to are wide fitting too

CloudAtlas · 07/12/2007 19:43

you see, you needed hatwoman!

moondog · 07/12/2007 19:43

Biscay and Sicily quite nice.

I think pointy boots with spindly heels a very bad idea unless v v slim.

ggirlsbells · 07/12/2007 19:43

these??

OP posts:
Maidamess · 07/12/2007 19:44

Those are better than the first ones. Heel a little spindly for everyday wear?

TinyTimLivesinVictorianSqualor · 07/12/2007 19:44

IMO, they're all horrible, the only ones I liked on that peggy website were these

moondog · 07/12/2007 19:45

Granada and Florence too.
