Just wondering whether it’s a good buy? Thanks.

think thats the one i had, found the brush bristles too soft to hang onto my hair noisy too

ApolloandDaphne · 15/09/2021 17:56

I have one and have used it for years. I have a short bob and it works well to coax it into shape.

Ornamentalcabbages · 15/09/2021 17:58

I've not log bought one after seeing the good reviews, but I'm not overly impressed. I have quite thick hair and the bristles are too soft, and it doesn't dry my hair fully compared to a standard hairdryer and brush technique Confused

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind · 15/09/2021 17:58

I have long, quite thick hair and I like mine, find it easy to use and works pretty well. I can't blow dry my hair so nicely at all without it.

enjoyingscience · 15/09/2021 17:59

Didn’t work at all for me. Thick unruly hair, should have known it needed beating into submission rather than coaxing...

MonkeyPuddle · 15/09/2021 17:59

Yeah I love mine. I use it when I do my hair, most days I just put salt spray and scrunch it.
I’ve got an inverted bob just past my chin and use it to get volume at the roots and curl the ends under.

Overthinker19 · 15/09/2021 17:59

Good for side fringe, short layers or if your hair is not thick

I dry my hair to almost dry with a normal hairdryer/round brush and just use the big brush at the end. It's no use if you just use the big brush on its own.

I have it and have shoulder length layered hair. I find it's the only thing that keeps down my frizz. I blow dry my hair 80% with regular dryer and then use Babyliss in sections to finish it off. I wouldn't be without it and even pop it in my case for travel! Go for it!

Iheartmysmart · 15/09/2021 18:01

I’ve got one although I’m currently growing out a dog clipper crop carried out in desperation during lockdown so it’s not in use at the moment. I’ve got really fine hair which is prone to looking lank and tatty fairly quickly. I loved mine. A bit of volumising spray on the roots and some frizz ease on the very ends and I’d have a nice sleek bob all day. Not so keen on the occasions I got my hair tangled up in it though!

givememarmite · 15/09/2021 18:04

I have one and love it. I have fine hair cut in a bob currently but have had my hair shoulder length before and it's great for adding volume and getting a decent style. I let my hair air dry about 75% and finish it off with the big hair so it's pretty quick too.

Twostepsbackagain · 15/09/2021 18:04

Aaargh, very mixed reviews and mostly negative! My hair is below my shoulders, not mega fine but definitely not thick. I want it to out a wave in it - not every day but just now and again. Usually, its curl cream scrunch and go! Anyone with similar hair find it does the job? It’s reduced on Amazon atm so I may order it …

I love mine, just above shoulders, fine hair

whatagloriousthingtobe · 15/09/2021 18:09

I've got shoulder length hair. Fine but a lot of it. It's okay, not something I must use, I prefer to wave my hair with the straighteners tbh!

VictoriaBun · 15/09/2021 18:12

I like mine but then I have fine hair , so it is good for that.

TheNatureOfTheCatastrophe · 15/09/2021 18:13

I think the people who hate it are the people with thick hair tbh.

MrsClatterbuck · 15/09/2021 18:18

I have two three actually but gave the 50mm one away. I use the 32mm one all the time. My hair really holds water so I let it air dry for 30 mins before I use it or use the hairdryer to save time. Gives my hair body and means I can do it myself and it looks fairly decent. Nearly bought another in Debenham's sale but I know my mum has one which she doesn't use so do I have spare just in case.

TableSetting · 15/09/2021 18:25

Fine hair here too and I love Babylis Big Hair. I blast with standard hairdryer until almost dry and then use it to give volume to shoulder length Bob. I actually feel like I have a hairstyle and not just flat, rubbish hair. There a few good YouTube videos to watch to get the hang of it.

Orcadianrythyms · 15/09/2021 18:35

Can I suggest the revlon pro one step? Great swishy blow dry look and easier than the babyliss as it doesn't spin.

Overthinker19 · 15/09/2021 18:39

I don’t think it’s good for creating a wave, rather volume and bounce. For a wave try a wide barrel tong eg 1.5 inch

mrssmiling · 15/09/2021 18:44

I’ve been using one for about ten years, and wouldn’t be without it. My hair is shoulder length and quite fine - I first had a 50mm, but now use a 42mm - much better! I agree with @TableSetting - you need to dry hair before using the Big Hair. It takes a bit of practice, and the videos are helpful - Big Hair gives a good imitation of a salon blow dry!

Roselilly36 · 15/09/2021 18:45

I have one, it’s awesome and would recommend, so much easier than holding a brush and a hairdryer. I have had mine a good few years now. One of the best hair electrical products I have brought over the years.

Gizmo98765 · 15/09/2021 18:48

I have one and love it. I don’t use it often as I have curly hair and prefer to leave it curly most days. But if going somewhere special I can get nearly as good an effect as a hairdresser and I am rubbish at doing hair.
I watched a few you tube videos and practised a few times until I got the hang of it. I quickly rough dry my hair until its 80% dry then section it off and use the BBH.

Helpel · 15/09/2021 18:55

I love mine for nights out. Gives a great blow dry effect on my hair, which is below shoulders very thick and frizzy if left to its own accord. Top tip, turn it on and leave it to heat up the ceramic roller for at least 5 mins before starting to style!

Tummelthecat · 15/09/2021 19:02

I have thin, fine hair cut in a short bob and it is the best thing ever. I use the 42 mm. I use it every time I wash my hair. I dry my hair roughly with the dryer and then style with the big hair. It is great for turning your hair under and getting a bit of lift at the roots.
