Just wondering whether it’s a good buy? Thanks.

Anybody have thick coarse hair and use it?

hopeishere · 15/09/2021 19:38

I love mine. I dry my hair and then style it with the BBH. I've thick shoulder length hair.

ineedsun · 15/09/2021 19:41

Love mine, I’ve had it for years. Have had hair all lengths from chest to pixie and mines fairly fine. Anything from mid length bob it’s brilliant.

batmanladybird · 15/09/2021 20:05

Yes. I loved it when my hair was just above shoulders

tibradden · 15/09/2021 21:31

@Orcadianrythyms

Can I suggest the revlon pro one step? Great swishy blow dry look and easier than the babyliss as it doesn't spin.
Me too. Have thick hair and love it.
UnusuallyUsual · 15/09/2021 21:41

I have shoulder length hair and wouldn't be without mine. I only use it on almost dry hair with small sections. Fab invention

Table9 · 15/09/2021 22:08

Is there anything like this for short hair? Sort of Princess Di length?

Twostepsbackagain · 15/09/2021 22:52

Wow, so many replies, thank you! @Overthinker19 has me wondering whether it’s a curling tong I need but I’d worried that it would fry my hair. Am going to order the Babyliss and give it a go. Thanks all.

Noooooo, order the Revlon One-step!

Twostepsbackagain · 15/09/2021 23:10

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor, why or how is it better? I’m just on Amazon at the moment with the Babyliss in my basket but have got distracted by Revlon brushes. It doesn’t look like they have rotating heads so is it not more difficult to get a wave or curl?

I have thick long hair and absolutely love it!

I have fine hair, but lots of it. I love my BBH for on the odd occasion I want a polished look.

I blast my hair to about 80% dry, mostly upside down to give a bit of volume at the roots, then usually section to dry with the Babylis, doesn't take long and really helps to sort out the flyaway frizz.

HasaDigaEebowai · 15/09/2021 23:23

I have long thick hair and it’s shite

If I want mine wavy I basically (trying to think how to describe this…) have the brush at a sideways angle and keep the rotation on as I sort of pull it through. It makes it into twists which when they’re cool you can break them up a bit and it looks wavy.

And the rotating brush is the whole point, you literally just put it under a section of hair, switch it on and it does the whole job for you (as long as your hair’s already about 80% dry), perfect for lazy people (like me!)

Twostepsbackagain · 15/09/2021 23:41

@ineedsun, that's really helpful, thank you! I'm going to sleep on it and order in morning but will come back and re-read your advice! Have been sad enough to watch a You Tube video on it!

Easier to use ,doesn't pull your hair out- I have really strong hair but the hairdresser noticed lots of breakage with the Big Hair. The Big Hair doesn't hold the style, half an hour later and it's flopped.

Look at some One Step you tube videos, there's loads. Just dry your hair first and then finish with the one step. It's a proper game changer.

You won't regret itGrin

Revlon One Step.. changed my fine flat hair for life 🥳🎉🌟💕

I got BODY 🥳

Mmmmdanone · 16/09/2021 06:54

I also have thick hair and recommend a revlon one step hair dryer for that. It doesn't revolve but bristles are strong enough. I secions of hair tightly around the brush and hold it there until dry.

Twostepsbackagain · 16/09/2021 07:06

Lol … now I’m really torn.

Thanks for the comments … < back to Amazon I go>

I bought one about ten years ago when it was all the rage on MN. I've got wavy hair that holds a lot of water so had to hairdry for ages first, but I didn't like it, it pulled all my waves straight and made it sort of bouffant, which I found aging and unflattering. I've got the Revlon One Step now but don't find it any better, leaving it to dry naturally and using curl friendly products works better for me.

Overthinker19 · 16/09/2021 08:29

I googled images of loose waves with a 1.5 inch barrel before deciding on a tong
The revlon one step sounds better for thick hair and looks like it easier to use. Bbh is easy once you know how but looks like it can handle smaller sections of hair vs the revlon

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 16/09/2021 08:48

The Big Hair I think is better for finer hair or a fringe and definitely smaller sections of hair. The One Step will sort my thick mop out on less than 5 mins
