I find the creams can burn me, is there anything that will work without being too harsh on my skin?

Flawless trimmer?

I bought one but haven’t used it for my face but down below and got carried away after cleaning it and took all the downy hair off my arms!

It’s brilliant.

Mangosmoothiesprinkles · 05/09/2021 09:54

The flawless trimmer is great. Search it on amazon (you can also find loads of cheaper alternatives for shout £12).

Can you afford laser hair removal? I've had my bikini and armpits done and am now having my moustache done and it's working very well.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 05/09/2021 09:56

I use my leg epilator. It stings at first but it is effective and does seem to weaken the hair regrowth.

32inchtv · 05/09/2021 11:47

Would a flawless trimmer or such like not cause stubble when it regrows?

I just use home wax strips. I have also had threading done which was effective but I got out of the habit during the lockdowns.

HPmagic · 05/09/2021 11:50

Just use facial wax strips it takes about 2 minutes and down for a few weeks

Longdistance · 05/09/2021 11:53

I go to get threading done ooo n my top lip and eye brows every few weeks. I look like a tomato after it’s done though. Not everyone goes red.

WeAreTheHeroes · 05/09/2021 11:54

I use home wax strips. Quick and effective.

EmeraldGreenVelvet · 05/09/2021 11:55

But then you have to let it grow to get it long enough to re-wax? That doesn't work for those of us with very dark hair.
IceLace100 · 05/09/2021 11:58

I've had electrolysis on my face.

It's expensive but very effective, and permanent. It's working so well I'm so excited!

BeaucoupFish · 05/09/2021 11:59

@PegasusReturns

This it’s brilliant
Hello Can you use this on the fine / pale hairs under the eyebrows or is it too big for that. I’m fed up with plucking mine it’s really difficult as they are so fine and I don’t want a trimmer as I think they will leave stubble.
DeathMetalMum · 05/09/2021 11:59

I can't wax, it hurts way too much and I always seem to get wax left on and it's just a huge faff. I epilate my legs but just can't wax for some reason.

I have used one of the stick things like the tweezerman and it's okay but hard to get the hairs in certain places. I have just bought a Philips facial hair remover it seems to be working well so far.

stealthninjamum · 05/09/2021 12:00

I’m having electrolysis on my chin at the moment as I’ve heard it’s more permanent than lasering the little buggers.

Comedycook · 05/09/2021 12:01

I use the wax strips from the pound shop! They are really good. I've had it threaded before and I find it much more painful and the pain lasts for ages whereas waxing is split second job

LemonViolet · 05/09/2021 12:01

The springy things cost about £3 from Amazon and they’re brilliant for lip and chin. Grabs really short hairs too and as it pulls out from the root regrowth isn’t too stubbly. Hardly hurts and no redness or mess to deal with like you get with waxing.

twelvefiftynine · 05/09/2021 12:03

How is everyone able to use those springs?! They hurt me like crazy

MrsSugar · 05/09/2021 12:05

I just get mine waxed. I used to use hair removal cream but it would make my skin raw. I’ve had it threaded once …. Never again OUCH !

BigButtons · 05/09/2021 12:10

I was wondering whether devices like the lumea work for fine facial hair. My peach fuzz is deffo getting longer 🧐

cissyandbessy · 05/09/2021 12:34

Same question @twelvefiftynine How do you even use them springs - I get so malcoordinated twisting the metal collars and moving the spring at the same time. Plus it REALLY HURTS! Use Nair for face now but I do find it can leave my skin feeling a bit 'squeeky' after. Could just be the contrast between my usual face of fluff though.

PegasusReturns · 05/09/2021 12:36

@BeaucoupFish you can use them under your eyebrows but you need to be really careful not to grab your actual brows. I find the tiny facial razors brilliant for under brows.

@twelvefiftynine they are a bit uncomfortable but it’s done in a couple of minutes and lasts ages. Well worth the discomfort in my view

PegasusReturns · 05/09/2021 12:39

To us the springs you hold them in a upside down U shape so the handles are more or less parallel and then twist them either both inwards or both outwards at the same time.

Once you get the back it’s straight forward and so much less bother than going to salon for threading

Mariell · 05/09/2021 13:01

Yes you would get stubble with any trimmer but the flawless trimmer is gentle enough to use every day.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 05/09/2021 13:04

Flawless trimmer, weirdly you don't get stubble if it's just peachy down hair even though it's technically a razor.
