I find the creams can burn me, is there anything that will work without being too harsh on my skin?

Honestly I just use a normal razor in the shower! I was shitting myself the first time I did it in case I got a five o'clock shadow but it's totally fine, costs almost nothing, and takes seconds. No special device required.

I’m tempted to do this now I’ve seen how bad my top lip is

I’m so scared of potential stubble

No,that's for eyebrows, the same brand but for upper lip.

BeaucoupFish · 05/09/2021 13:43

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor
I wanted the eyebrow one !
Thanks so much for confirming

PegasusReturns · 05/09/2021 13:45

I also have a flawless trimmer but it is nowhere near as good as the springy thing. Pulse because it’s a razor you have to do it far more regularly

Oh sorry, I haven't used the eye brow one only the upper lip one. Hope it works Smile

QuestionableMouse · 05/09/2021 14:47

Eyebrow razors. Quick cheap and effective.

I've been plucking my chin hairs for years and the spring thing was really painful!

RomComPhooey · 05/09/2021 14:53

@BigButtons

I was wondering whether devices like the lumea work for fine facial hair. My peach fuzz is deffo getting longer 🧐
I have a Lumea. Results depend on how dark your hair is to start off with. The darker your hair is, the more effective it is. All of this is explained in the product literature. I was annoyed to find I’d left it too late and still have to pluck my grey (unpigmented) lady whiskers. If you are dark and hairy start young before any of your hair loses pigment.
whatagloriousthingtobe · 05/09/2021 14:56

I just use facial wax strips. The veet ones. Yes it hurts for a second but you just grit your teeth and it's over. No way would I shave my face or anything I'd be terrified of stubble

OwlBasket · 05/09/2021 15:00

I hated the spring thing, even more painful than plucking or threading. Wax wrecks my skin as do hair removal creams. Bleaching, well yeah, that doesn’t work out well either.

A razor is the thing. No faff, cheap, efficient, easy, no reactions, perfect. I’ve been doing it for years and have never had an issue with stubble. Love that there’s no need to wait for regrowth as well.

Youreastar · 05/09/2021 15:00

I have tried waxing and threading but have now bought a facial epilator (braun). Great on peach fuzz and catches very tiny hair so I don't have to wait for hair to grow long before epilating.

FirstTimeMother88 · 05/09/2021 15:01

The cream burns me too but since I started putting on moisturiser first (it says not) to but it works just as good and creates a barrier so I don't get the irritation anymore...
Worth a go if u still have some cream lying around before u get rid of it 🤷‍♀️

WeAreTheHeroes · 05/09/2021 15:05

I have very dark facial and body hair. On my upper lip the regrowth from wax strips is fine and not very noticeable. I just wax every 10 days to 2 weeks. It's really quick and easy.

Time40 · 05/09/2021 15:12

Just shave it, OP. It takes two seconds, is completely painless and costs almost nothing.

KillingMeDeftly · 05/09/2021 15:23

Laser hair removal or IPL for the upper lip won't be very expensive as it's a small area and you'll probably only need a few sessions. Have a look on Treatwell or Groupon to check if anywhere near you is offering a deal.

UseOfWeapons · 05/09/2021 15:30

I use an ordinary ladies’ razor and wet shave it! A nice coating if Vaseline after, and it’s good for a few weeks. Don’t really get stubble either. Cheap, cheerful, painless, and easy.

LemonViolet · 05/09/2021 15:56

Isn’t it weird how we’re all different. I find the springy thing the least painful of all plucking/waxing methods I’ve tried. Actually find it a kinda satisfying sensation when you get a little prickler that’s been annoying you all day!

RampantIvy · 05/09/2021 15:58

I use an epilator

Kittii · 05/09/2021 16:04

All waxing/threading gives me spot. A strip of acne on your top lip isn't a good look 😬

Passthecake30 · 05/09/2021 21:40

The springy thing. It lives in my knicker drawer and every few days I just give it a whirl. I’m fair so it just thins them out nicely.

AnnieSnap · 05/09/2021 23:06

I use this. It’s easy to use, very effective and amazingly, I never get stubble with it!
