Or an average amount? The far wardrobe is about 1/2 full too but you can't see

Would you say this is a lot of clothes?

It's more than I have, but it depends if you wear it all or not.

It also looks like a lot of dresses, so you need fewer 'items' to make an outfit.

lonelySam · 04/09/2021 19:43

Is this for one season or all the clothes you own? If for one season - yes it is a lot, if all year - nah, buy some more!

HumDumMum · 04/09/2021 19:45

@lonelySam mostly all year, in the wardrobe you can't see I've got loads of folded up summer tops which I never really hang up x

Its a lot of dresses. Where are the coats, jackets, tops, shirts, trousers, skirts, jeans, shoes, bags?

Is this your wardrobe?

HumDumMum · 04/09/2021 19:46

I tend to wear leggings with long tops since having my son and got rid of a lot of the tops to wear with jeans Sad so that's one thing I have very few of. X

It’s more than I’ve got, mainly because last year in lockdown I did a massive clear out. I’ve still got stuff that I haven’t worn since then though!

I think it looks quite disorganised? I’d really suggest thinning it out or sorting it somehow so that you can find the things you like.

HumDumMum · 04/09/2021 19:48

@TheBullfinch yeah it's mine. I had a massive cull and regretting it now!
I've got a couple of jackets and coats in the attic, I don't own many nice tops to go with jeans it's mostly t shirts or vest tops and not many shirts. My shoes are in the bottom of the wardrobe you can't see.
I feel like I wear the same things all the time! And just baggy tops with leggings x

That’s the amount of stuff both my husband and I have combined. But each to their own OP

HumDumMum · 04/09/2021 19:50

@Ikeameatballs I did the same! Got rid of around 15 bags of clothes over lockdown and regretting it now! Maybe I do need to organise it to see what I lacking.. I think I need more tops that I can wear with jeans as I've just got long tops really. And things to wear for meals out I don't have many of those kind of clothes x

HumDumMum · 04/09/2021 19:51

@Username7521 and I bet you still feel like you have more to wear than I do! x

I feel like OP has just bought or got delivered some new clothes and a member of the household has said "you don't need more clothes"
Or am I just saying what's happened with me recently haha

FastFood · 04/09/2021 20:24

It's probably 4 or 5 times what I have 😂

OneAugustNight · 04/09/2021 20:27

It looks like a lot. Similar amount of space to me although I have lots of coats and jackets in mine. Where are yours?

Lovemusic33 · 04/09/2021 20:27

I have a similar amount, slightly less wardrobe space but I have 2 chest of drawers.

ZenNudist · 04/09/2021 20:30

Not really if it's all your clothes.

ToManderleyAgain · 04/09/2021 20:31

What strikes me is that there’s not one coherent colour palette. It looks like there’s black, but also warm autumn colours, and then some cool pinks and blues too. No one person will really suit all of those colours.

Perhaps if you thinned it out to only the colours that truly work for you, then it might feel like you have more that you really want to wear?

tortoiselover100 · 04/09/2021 20:33

Looks ok to me, I have more.

Tealwarrior · 04/09/2021 20:34

It’s a lot of clothes but there doesn’t appear to be much to wear.

Have you considered getting your colors done and getting rid of things that don’t suit you in order to make a wearable but smaller selection of clothes.

RandomUsernameHere · 04/09/2021 20:35

I've probably got a similar amount in total, maybe a bit more, but not as many dresses and more separates.

Tealwarrior · 04/09/2021 20:35

We cross posted - I agree with you. Loads of clothes but nothing much to wear in real terms.
RacistAngst · 04/09/2021 20:39

Much more than what I have too.

What strikes me is the fact you still feel like you are wearing the same thing day in day out.
That means you have too many things that you don’t love and take a lot of space. Also I suspect too many things that are very similar. I suspect that some tidying up is required.
Then I would NOT go and buy ‘what’s missing’ (according to whatever rules you think you should follow re clothes). Rather I would buy what you love and need and build up from that.

Chloemol · 04/09/2021 20:45

It’s less than I have!

goose1964 · 04/09/2021 20:45

It looks like mine after culling. I still need to go through my dresses though

pickingdaisies · 04/09/2021 20:49

That's an awful lot of dresses. I have a few dresses but they aren't daily wear, except a few for hot summer weather. The clothes I wear all the time are in drawers. Jeans, joggers, tops to go with them.
If you took out all the clothes you don't like/don't wear, what are you left with? The clothes on the top shelves aren't very accessible, does that stop you wearing them? Or are they seasonal things deliberately put away?

BoredZelda · 04/09/2021 20:49

I had a clear out and now have about 10 tops and 4 pairs of trousers, a couple of suits and a dress. The wardrobe is a similar size to yours but is about half as full. I put out clothes I haven’t worn for years.
