how are your pins olive? If they are good, then why not?

rantinghousewife · 29/11/2007 09:41

Depends on the tights, thick black tights? Then no, it is not to short for a 38 years old woman. Fake tanned legs, then yes

oliveoil · 29/11/2007 09:41

or what about this? will I look like I am attending a funeral?

TimeForMe · 29/11/2007 09:41

Oooh yes! Well I think so. Hope I've not offended you

BUT, i do suppose if you look younger for your years and have the legs and body for it, you could get away with it.

oliveoil · 29/11/2007 09:42

legs are fine

but it is for works do so may be over the top and a bit tarty?

am getting depressed trying to find something, grrrrr

I like the second one!

(maybe i've turned into a prude since i turned 43 )

Hassled · 29/11/2007 09:43

I prefer the second one. First is lovely, provided you are stick-thin with great legs, but that would be the case if you were 38 or 18. It's a pretty unforgiving dress!

TimeForMe · 29/11/2007 09:43

Have you had a look at Next website?

rantinghousewife · 29/11/2007 09:44

The goth in me likes the second one.

MascaraOHara · 29/11/2007 09:44

I like the first one but you;d have to have good legs

oliveoil · 29/11/2007 09:44

I would feel more comfortable in 2nd one

I am size 10/12 and 5'9" so dress would be fine (I think) BUT I am of the opinion that you should be more demure when older [victorian]

Prefer second one by far.

But why don't you go for a lighter/brighter colour?

rantinghousewife · 29/11/2007 09:45

If you're 5ft9 then I reckon you could get a away with the first one. But I still think thick black tights.

oliveoil · 29/11/2007 09:46

The trouble with Topshop is you're likely to be standing next to someone with the same TS dress on. Everyone shops at TS.
