What do you use to glue down curly hair frizz?

My frizz halo is just crazy. I have quite curly, pouffy hair, but I just had a really good curly cut which means I don't necessarily have to spend a long time smoothing and taming it anymore - it will sit naturally in a good shape. I'm dead chuffed actually, I've been trying to get a decent cut for years - that experience is a whole other unbelievable tale, worst and most unprofessional hair salon I've ever been to BUT the cut turned out amazing!

Sadly my frizz is beyond the pale. I've tried the Curly Girl method in the past with no joy, so I no longer spend hundreds on CG friendly products, but I have tried them all at one time or another!

If you wash and leave your hair without too much faffing, and have dry curly hair prone to big bushy frizz - what's your go to product to stick it down? I've been using Faith in Nature aloe vera conditioner and leaving a little in my hair, then adding a strong gel when wet. Once dry I scrunch out the crispy coating.

That looks reasonable until I've slept on it or walked out in wind/humidity etc - then the top layers look like I've been electrocuted. I've tried water and conditioner, and some gel, but it just springs up again when dry. I rather resemble coco the clown.

What can I try, that doesn't involve hours of faffing, and that I can use to refresh every now and then between washes?

Thanks for the latest suggestions. I've been away (with huge frizzy clown hair) but came home and washed and conditioned as normal - add a modest amount of Cantu leave in conditioning creme, brushed through with the Denman brush (I've watched JaymeJo too Cruella!) and then used it to define sections, then scrunched in a bit of Cantu twist and lock gel.

I can't find my diffuser so I let it mostly air dry - it was definitely more defined and less frizzy, but the curls feel claggy and heavy like thick noodles, not soft and full and bouncy. I did try scrunching out the gel, but it doesn't look very nice - a bit dull and lank. It was slightly better after I'd slept on it I suppose but it feels kinda dirty!

Maybe the leave-in conditioner was too heavy? I've just received my trial pack from Hello Curls, maybe I'll try that next.

Oh, not "Hello Curls", it's "Only Curls". If anyone has tried it.

I'm going curly this summer and it's mostly been great. How does it work in winter though? The only way my hair goes curly is if I leave the house with it wet.

A bit of Frizz Ease conditioner on the ends, then put a drop or two of L’Oréal hair oil in while wet and leave to dry naturally. And a silk pillowcase.

My hairdresser has just used Eleven Australia curling cream on my hair and it looks gorgeous! Might be worth a try?

I have curly hair that tends to be frizzy. I have recently started washing it with Shu Uemura Cleansing Milk and I have used Shu Uemura Oil before blow drying. It has really sorted out the frizz. I am using up my existing stash of conditioner, but will try one from the same range once I have run out.

UPDATE on Only Curls - used the full range (bought the trial pack for £30, cleanser, conditioner, curl creme and gel).

I had a stinking headache at the time so only used the Denman brush half heartedly, no idea if I applied it all correctly (did it from memory), and went to bed early with it still damp as I don't have a diffuser.

Expected to look like a bush in the morning, but - I didn't, it looked alright! A spritz of water and a tidy and it looked pretty good. Today is day 2, I needed a bit more water this morning to use the denman brush on the longest bits, but it looks kinda nice and I'd say minimal frizz!

So the Only Curls range gets a thumbs up, I try doing it properly next time and will make sure it's properly dry before sleeping on it.

oh interesting, they keep advertising to me on FB.

I was thinking of trying the styling products, rather than the shampoo and conditioner too.

maybe I will order the mini set of those.

The only product that works for me is Sebastian Potion 9

It’s a leave-in conditioning gel.

In the picture your hair looks amazing on the non frizzy side- is it maybe the side you sleep on that frizzes? In which case a silk pillowcase might really help.
