If you could only wear one perfume for the rest of your life.....

What would it be?

For me, Jo Malone's lime, basil and mandarin. I smell it and it immediately takes me back to hot summer holidays in the Caribbean.....

However. If I started this thread in the winter I'd say chanel coco Grin

Which just demonstrates the impossibility of just choosing one perfume forever, doesn't it!

Loved Marc Jacobs Lola but it's been discontinued.

Currently wearing L'Occitane Cherry Blossom.

@66babe

Sounds like a fair swap *@SmackMyAssnCallMeJudy* a lifetime of a perfect perfume ... man turned to dust .... no problem 😀
Absolutely! 😆
TheVampiresWife · 06/07/2021 10:13

I've just sprayed Casmir by Chopard (I haven't worn it for a while) and that would be another one for me.

franfranwills · 06/07/2021 10:27

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede 🥰

uncomfortablydumb53 · 06/07/2021 15:19

A recent find but YSL libre
When I hugged my sons( first time in 18 months) they all said I smelt like " me" which is lovely

BigButtons · 06/07/2021 16:13

@TheVampiresWife

Choco Musk by Al Rehab. It's the cheapest perfume I've ever worn but also the most gorgeous. I wear it every day and it's the only perfume I've ever worn that strangers have commented on. My favourite was a child on a bus who told me I smelled like his 'mam's Christmas biscuits'. It's straight up milk chocolate, vanilla, musk and sandalwood and it's £2 for 6ml of oil.
Agreed- I always have people comment favourably when I wear it!
Ohbeeryme · 06/07/2021 18:56

Oh that’s a tough one. Not sure I could pick! But one that’s not too seasonal or day/night etc would be Abercrombie and Fitch First Instinct

CambsAlways · 06/07/2021 19:10

Estée Lauder sensious

Itsonlymeeee · 06/07/2021 19:29

At the risk of mn taking the piss mine would always be White Musk by the Body Shop. I use the oil then the spray & everytime I wear it everyone comments on how nice I smell (even though I can never smell it on myself) It's the scent everyone associates with me. During the first lockdown my then 4yo dgd was having bad dreams so we took a big Teddy bear that was on her bed here & sprayed it with my white musk & put a note around the bears neck asking it to look after dgd & to keep the bad dreams away. We took it over to give to her (socially distancing) & straight away she said he smelled of nanny & later dd rang me to say the smell made her cry as it made her think of me.
I've got a few expensive perfumes on my dresser but none of them get the same reaction as my beloved White Musk!

ladymalfoy45 · 06/07/2021 19:32

Fracas.

LlamaofDrama · 06/07/2021 19:33

L'heure magique by Laura Mercier. I splashed out on it for my wedding, absolutely loved it. By the time I'd summoned the strength to pay for it it had been discontinued.

66babe · 06/07/2021 19:35

I think that's lovely @Itsonlymeeee
❤️

CambsAlways · 06/07/2021 20:29

SiobhanSharpe · 07/07/2021 14:13

@thegreylady

Does anyone know where I can but Chanel No 5 reasonably? Dd would love to try it. She has a birthday coming up but I can’t find it under 3 figures.
Try ebay? Also the Fragrance Shop has 35 ml bottles if Chanel no5 eau de parfum for 62 quid.
Tish008 · 07/07/2021 14:15

Robert Piguet - Nuit Velor

SiobhanSharpe · 07/07/2021 14:25

I can't wear the famous Jo Malone lime, basil and mandarin -- all i can smell is warm pee. Human, not cats. I think the term the perfumistas use is urinous. 😬
I think it's the basil because i love most citrus scents.
And I bought the Escentual Molecule 01 after huge recommendations on here, but it's just weird, and not just on me. If i spray it on paper or fabric it smells the same. It's not awful, just ... weird.
I think I would go for Tom Ford Vert de Fleur as my one and only. It's quite reminiscent of the old (very old) Balmain Vent Vert which my mother wore.

prettybird · 07/07/2021 14:48

If I had to choose, it would be Poême de Lancôme.

That's the one I still wear regularly and always get compliments when I do so.

I also like Estée Lauder's White Linen in summer.

I used to wear Ysatis years ago as my "signature" perfume before I discovered Poême - tried wearing it again recently and it now seems too heavy on me Confused. I may try it again in winter as I still have a nearly full bottle .

Over the years, I've also liked Coco and Red Door. These are all perfumes that I've bought/asked for the soap/body lotion/talc because I want to layer it.

Chanel No 5 wasn't right on me but I liked No 19 and Demoiselle.

EyesOfABlueDog · 07/07/2021 19:06

At the moment, Nuxe perfume. It smells so lovely.
New West for Her by Aramis was my signature scent in the 90s. So many good memories. Wish they still made it!

Chicinwellies · 07/07/2021 20:45

Until recently it was Black Opium or Chanel Chance Fraiche, but now, surprisingly, it is Dior Rose en Rose. I literally can't wear enough of it.

SleeplessinEastSussex · 07/07/2021 20:46

Love in white by Creed

OneMamaAndHerGirl · 07/07/2021 21:21

Coco mademoiselle for sure

TaylorStan · 07/07/2021 21:23

J'adore by Christian Dior

Anjunna · 07/07/2021 21:35

Flora by Gucci

HeraInTheHereAndNow · 07/07/2021 21:36

Don’t laugh…

In the 80’s 90’s I wore Miss Dior. Back then, there was only one. Now of course, in order to appeal to the younger generation there are loads of Miss Dior flankers. You can still buy the Miss Dior (as was); it’s called “Originale” but… it’s awful. Nothing like the one I had and rebought so many times. Then, I read somewhere that Avon’s Timeless is an exact dupe for the Miss Dior of yesteryear. It’s £5. And it is, for me, exactly the same.

It dries down quite “caramel”, quite sweet in me. Always has. I’m delighted. So, my “signature” scent is now Avon Timeless. I shall be stocking up.

66babe · 07/07/2021 21:42

Oh @HeraInTheHereAndNow you've just reminded me of Avon Soft Musk ... lovely
