If you could only wear one perfume for the rest of your life.....

What would it be?

For me, Jo Malone's lime, basil and mandarin. I smell it and it immediately takes me back to hot summer holidays in the Caribbean.....

However. If I started this thread in the winter I'd say chanel coco Grin

Which just demonstrates the impossibility of just choosing one perfume forever, doesn't it!

Yes Calyx Prescritives . I didn't know you could still buy it . Beautiful. Molecule 01 is my fave but for summer Estee Lauders Bronze Goddess is just a holiday in a bottle .

Carnal flower

HomeSliceKnowsBest · 04/07/2021 23:24

Lush Lust until I had to boycott Lush. Louboutin Bikini Questa Serra (costs a bomb, smells divine).

SocksAndTheCity · 04/07/2021 23:37

If I really had to pick one it would be Baby Doll by Yves St Laurent, which I'm snapping up whenever I see it as it's getting harder to find. If not that, then maybe YSL Parisienne.

If I could go back in time to 2003 and buy a van load, then Summer Moon by Ghost. I was gutted when I finished mine and went to buy another to find out that it was a limited edition and Never To Be Seen Again.

cheeseisnice · 05/07/2021 02:03

Hermes 24 Faubourg. Utterly gorgeous.

Furries · 05/07/2021 03:31

This thread has also made me remember one I wouldn’t go for again. I loved Giorgio Beverly Hills as a very young teen in the 80’s - could not imagine me ever wearing it again now.

Bluesheep8 · 05/07/2021 06:50

White Patchouli by Tom Ford

KikiniBamalam · 05/07/2021 06:57
@MrsCatE Jo Malone basil & neroli smells just like Neroli Portofino, I can’t distinguish them. Unfortunately both have equally crappy staying power on me, but the Jo Malone is cheaper.
I disagree, they’re different! Neroli is so much softer, lbm makes me feel sick now, I used to love it. The perfume parlour dupe of neroli is identical if the TF is out of budget.

LadySpratt · 05/07/2021 08:15

For winter it is always Dior J’adore L’or. Summer is Dior Escale a Portofino.
Then I got (over) sprayed by an assistant with Gris Dior. Oh my - my new scent. Will probably let this be the only purchase as it’s rather pricey. But hey, after the year and a bit we’ve had, why not?

Housewife2010 · 05/07/2021 09:12

I really couldn't limit myself to one perfume forever. I find that if I wear the same scent every day, then I stop noticing it on myself. It is so lovely to change my scent with the seasons, the occasion and my mood. Also my tastes change. A couple of years back Frederick Malle's En Passant was my favourite perfume. I like it now but rarely reach for it. A few years back I absolutely loved Liz Earle No 1 and Calyx Prescriptives, but no longer like them. I'm currently going through a big Miller Harris Forage collection phase and have just discovered Penhaligons. I wouldn't want to wear a gloriously fresh citrus holiday scent in the Winter or a cosy cold weather scent like Miller Harris' L'Air de Rien in the Summer. (I even have a favourite wet Spring/Summer day scent - Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca!). If you wear the same scent every day, you can't associate them with special memories.

FuckingFabulous · 05/07/2021 10:31

Tom Ford's 'Fucking Fabulous'or 'Bitter Peach.' Or Killian's 'Back To Black'- either the real things or the perfume parlour dupe. I can't decide!!! I wear fucking fabulous most days, but bitter peach is amazing and back to black is just sex and lust in a bottle to my husband, so I can't give that one up!

FuckingFabulous · 05/07/2021 10:32

When I was a teen, it was Davidoff cool water. I can't smell that now without remembering bars and puke and drama.

Cruel · 05/07/2021 10:35

I've changed my mind about what I'd wear forever (I've been thinking about this!)

Oribe Côte d'Azur

Smells incredible but so hard to get hold of!!
